I said claim was the operative word. Maybe the subtleties and nuances of English are a bit complex for you?

Did they only arm themselves with hammers, and wide belts which weren't for holding their trousers up, as although they were peacefully walking along to the match the lack of police about concerned them?

A bit like Humberside Police can't be arsed about a lot if things. Unless they are football related of course.

I mean, I’ve only been paid to write English professionally for over 20 years...

And I don’t understand your point. I’ve never disputed some Roma fans were intent on trouble.

There are journalists who don't understand the subtleties and nuances of the English language nowadays.<laugh>

A bit remiss of Liverpool shopkeepers to sell them hammers and belts. Maybe they should be blamed.

I can see some major trouble tomorrow night out in Rome.

I fear someone is going to get seriously hurt or worse.

Me too. All those people standing and the flares and smoke bombs are a recipe for disaster.

Like the Roman, you seem to see the River Tiber foaming with much blood?

No need to worry the Rome police have guaranteed fan's safety as long as they observe the rules.

Rule 1. Don't come to Rome.

Sssh, you’re not allowed to mention that. It ruins the brutal Italian police narrative.

And if it kicks off massively it’s Roma Ultra’s fault, if nothing happens it’s down to Liverpool fans’ impeccable behaviour.
