Fan or Customer ?

I'd he surprised of there were many, if any, "customers" on here. There are cheaper and easier ways to get a football fix than trudging to the stadium through crowds and/or traffic jams then forking out £16+

Have to agree I doubt there's many customers on here. A question might might highlight a bigger split would be City fan, Allam fan or PL fan, but of course no one would admit to the latter two.
 
I would think that more or less all season ticket holders are fans, as well as some that pay game by game. But being in the EPL, I am sure there are some people who will just come to watch from time to time and these would for me class as customers.
 
I don't think there's any doubt that currently, fans are being replaced by customers, the fact that 3,000 season ticket holders didn't renew and 2,500 new season ticket holders replaced them.

In an ideal world, we'd be adding the 2,500 new customers to the 3,000 fans, rather than them being replaced by customers who are now on board mainly because of Premier League football.
 
Fan obviously when it comes to watching Hull City. If I went to see a game where City were not involved then I suppose I would be a customer of the home club on that day.
 
I think the question should be 'City' fan or customer, because recent events have meant we've lost City fans and replaced them with general football/Premier league fans.
 
Less of a fan at home these days and more of a customer if I'm honest, through feelings of detachment. I'd love that to reverse though.

At times I feel like an employee being told what's going to happen to the business to drive it forward.
 
Some of the pass holders who left were only pass holders from us going up last season so don't believe they were all great fans although i do agree we will have lost some genuine ones {mainly due to price increase). Every fan is different some like me really take it to heart and think about the team all week others turn up and get the result out of there system quickly. Im on a massive high when we win and the opposite when we lose which at times rules my home life, i wish i didn't take it all to heart so much but i suppose that's what makes me so passionate about the game.
 
I'm both, when I come to City which I have been doing since 1954 I consider myself a real fan. For 8 years I worked in Europe and on many occasions went to a game, then I was just a customer watching teams I didn't support.
 
If i can lift my head out of the trenches of another thread I'd say I'm a fan treated like a customer! I don't think anyone on here feels any love from the owner? :-(
 
The way that owners treat fans is like we are customers. They are often quoted along the lines of "maximising brand potential", which is really trying to get more cash out of the fan-base. This is the reason that AA is using to change the name of the club. However owners know that fans do not behave like customers, as they can treat fans very poorly and still rely on their support. The way owners treat fans would be business suicide in other areas. If fans did actually acted like customers and withdraw their custom, or took it elsewhere, there may be a lot less wayward club owners.

AA doesn't seem to take notice of fans vocalising their protest at his plan to change the name. I wonder whether he would ignore us if we hit him where he understands it, in the pocket.
