You have now (or a part of it), so is the subject of that paragraph what you are referring to, or is it something else? It should be quite easy for you to be more precise. There are and have been many very good people in the FA and you really should back up your allegation, Charlie1.
The Jack Warner stuff goes back much further. I'm sure there have been good people in the FA. I'm sure there have been good people in FIFA an UEFA.

I certainly don't recall anything or any hint of anything linked to corruption between our FA and Jack Warner going back beyond the bid I highlighted, which I thought you meant. So what bid was it then?

Like you I am sure there have been good folk in FIFA, but, unfortunately it has been found to be rotten to the core; wouldn't you agree? I don't believe our FA has though, has it? In fact, haven't we been a voice calling for transparency?

We haven't discussed UEFA, although it would be pointless unless we have a little more than throw-away remarks to base opinion on.

Perhaps we should watch what develops without making unnecessary assumptions - although I think we will all be entertained, shocked or simply disappointed by what will proceed in the coming year or so. I have turned my love of football to grass-roots and for that to be successful the FA must have a good name in the midst of all of this dross, so, if someone can show corruption in the FA organisation I really would want it brought out in the open and dealt with.

People like Jack Warner ingratiate themselves into all manner of circles - leading politicians, sports bodies, charitable organisations, you name it - he will do his best to get a foothold, but association makes them guilty of nothing, except, perhaps, necessity. <ok>

Goes back as far as 2000 with Warner and the FA. Let's also not forget the FA actively kept women out of playing football for over 50 years.

Have you been Googling, Charlie1? We know of allegations and rumour but we have little fact, do we? As you will not support your allegation I will post what I found in one search:

FA fear FBI probe with troubling questions in FIFA scandal after schmoozing former vice-president Jack Warner, a trip to Prince Charles' home and a £135,000 sweetener
  • FA insiders fear they may be in the FBI's sights over deals
  • Jack Warner enjoyed 'warm relations' with the English FA
  • Warner is now wanted by the authorities in the USA on corruption charges
  • Using royalty to flatter and influence FIFA official became par for course
  • David Beckham paraded by Warner as show of English support
Full article here.

This article says a lot, yet it proves very little except that our FA lobbied and sought favour with influential players in the world game - but who didn't and why shouldn't they? Have they shown evidence of individual bribery or direct corruption? We have corporate boxes at our ground, should we get rid of them as they are corrupt in their use of entertaining guests to win favour? I think we should keep our powder dry until there are more facts; Jack Warner corrupts Jack Warner, but we should be careful about opening the cesspits to our own FA as I am not so sure there is a fair comparison as yet; but, perhaps, some might disagree.

Sorry, Charlie1, but I think NorthFerribyTiger gave the best tongue-in-cheek answer to your second point. :emoticon-0145-shake

Is this recent? The Warner connection to us has been known about for years. He's been paraded about by us as long as i can remember. Proving its corruption link is indeed another thing.

Aye, it is:

This was published in the Daily Mail yesterday, it doesn't seem to be opening on here, sorry, my ineptness probably! Try Googling - Jack Warner 2000 - and it should be prominent. An interesting article, yet, like so many of the Mail's stuff, it has many gaps for questions. Like I said, I really hope there is not the deep-rooted corruption of FIFA and I will need to see proof before I will accept the name of the FA being dragged through the mud.
