Well, his basically won this year and he’s still utterly dominant. I see no suggestion of him not having at least 2 more years in him.
Anyone got a take on the Vettel situation and who goes to Ferrari? Fascinating shift, I’d love to see Sainz or Russell but looks like Riccardo, which makes sense, but then who’s the number 1? Massive clash. Interesting times ahead on that one. Edit **its Sainz**
F1 is boring to watch imo. I used to police silverstone most years. I saw Damon Hill fall off a motorbike once there. Or at least I think it was him. And even though I think it’s boring me and Mrs EJK are going to try and get to the Singapore GP next year if it’s on and we’re allowed into the country.
I’d love to do the Singapore mate. I kinda get the boring tag, although the budget changes should help with that, and last season after winter break was very good. I suppose you have to love it to like it now as it’s more about the technology and strategy than the races.
This caught me a little by surprise in the sense that I wasn't expecting announcements but it's no shock that it's happening. All the big drivers want to be the number 1 driver, not equals. Vettel had the same problem with Verstappen at Red Bull and Hamilton had that problem with Rosberg at Mercedes. Leclerc is the future of Ferrari, they were never going to leave him sitting as Vettel's wing man after last year's performances. It looks like Sainz is the odds on choice, though it says a lot about where Ferrari are. A couple of years ago, most people would have been convinced that they would have been able to entice Hamilton or Verstappen to join them, but both seem content with their teams ahead of the regulation changes next year. That's nothing against Sainz mind, who is probably overdue a shot in a competitive car. George Russell getting Sainz' McLaren seat would be perfect for me, teaming him up with Lando Norris gives McLaren that extra bit of British interest and creates an exciting young rivalry.
Agree with every part mate. Desperate to see McLaren do well so it’s a shame to lose the consistency and development help of Sainz, but I’d love to see Russell in a better car, he’s potentially up there with Max and Le Clerc, potentially even better. Going McLaren keeps his clear path to Mercedes open as well, if he goes and performs at McLaren, him and Lando May be having a shoot out to replace Lewis in 2 years. Its a fantastic scenario for me.
We go to Singapore every year - it’s kind of our ‘go to’ place. We thought it would be good if we could get to see the GP one year. It was actually going to be this year but the buggers have closed the border!
My mate did the Singapore one. Paid for the whole weekend with limited put access and paid a fortune. His wife n daughter did the basic one but saw Maroon 5 and I think Madonna in concert for half the cost. Must have been worth it tho as he is planning a repeat.
Love to do it mate, or Abu Dhabi. When I used to do client at BA I used to book the Stewart Racing team, when they sold up the PA lass I dealt with offered to fly me out to it, stay in their villa etc. BA blocked it under ‘corporate bribe’ bullshit. It wasn’t a bribe I’d dealt with them for years. Was fuming.
Abu Dhabi for me. I want to visit Ferrari World too. Outside of that I would love to go to Montreal. One of my favourite tracks and I could go see Niagra Falls too!
I'm worried about the physical prowess of the nation. How **** are we at sports when our best ever sports person drives a ****ing car.
I know what you mean, we are good at cycling and rowing... both sitting down sports.. although in all 3 sports you have to be vert fit to perform. ..
