Think the only thing he’s disappointed in is that neither Poch or Levy spoke to him about his future/ gave a definitive answer. He fully knows he was gash last season.

To be fair to him, he’s probably right so far by saying we got rid too early and that he just needed a break because KWP and Dave have been shocking so far <laugh>
That's surely bullshit from you. Trippier cost us a fair few goals last season his defending was extremely poor in lots of games. Yet you give your stick to Winks who has not done such things. Now Atletico are better than us. Are they? How do you make that judgement?
The least appealing trait of Trippier was the way he always tried to blame a teammate when he made his gaffs.

So you think we’re better than Atleti?

****ing hell I thought scousers were the ones with delusion.

So bullshit then

When did they get to the CL final?

About three seasons ago, they did win the Europa League and Super Cup in 2018 though, been runner up the past two seasons in La Liga and generally have one of the best built sides in Europe, this even after the losses of Godin and Griezmann.

OK DH you certainly know more about the European game than I do but I do think we have to play them to see how good they are. Different leagues and paper quality is not the same. Look at United for example with all their expensive players and yet the product does not live up to the hype.

Playing them in a one off wouldn’t determine anything.

We beat City over two legs in the CL last season but that doesn’t mean we’re better. Barca, Bayern, PSG and Real never made the CL Final but are we better than them? No.

Atleti - and those mentioned - have shown far better consistency levels than we have. That’s nothing to be ashamed of, they’re all great sides, it’s that level we’re trying to reach and beyond but we’re not there just yet.

Playing them and winning is what football is all about. The rest is bullshit, as I said in the first place <laugh>

Nando grabbed a debut assist after coming off the bench to set up Mertens for his second goal in a 2-0 win.

Shame there was nobody there to see it.
Did well to take his time and pick out an unmarked teammate, rather than just trying to smash it past the keeper.

A story on the BBC about Famalicao leading the Portuguese league, while featuring a Stoke left-back on loan:

The part they missed? Famalicao's number 10, former Spurs academy player Ruben Lameiras.
Joined from Plymouth Argyle in the summer on a free, having been watched by a number of pretty big teams, including Bordeaux.
