Could've had a few more, too. Nice to see him still putting them away. <ok>

This has raised an existential question for Arsenal fans: the league that makes Kieran Tierney look good is the same league that makes 36 year-old Jermain Defoe look like prime Ruud van Nistelrooy.

So either the league is cack, or Defoe really is that good. Can't have your haggis and eat it.

Genuinely not an exaggeration to say rangers should have scored at least 10...it's an embarrassing league.

I think that Hibs have been pretty poorly run, to be fair. That's true of a lot of Scottish clubs though, especially Rangers.
They need to examine the whole league, make some serious changes and return to being competitive.
It's a small country, but they had a great tradition of producing top players and that's become increasingly rare.

As evidenced by their two best prospects being left backs...and nowhere else on the pitch

Was talking to my 16 year old about the fact that I can not remember the last time a good player came from Scotland to a premier league club...let alone a very good one.
Think that is the risk in Arsenal buying Tierney...ain't saying he is a crap player but I honestly have no idea how you can judge a player who has only played there.

In 2014 Defoe (aged 32) scored 11 goals in 19 games for Toronto FC.
On his return to the UK he scored 35 goals in 87games (between 2014 and 2019 for Sunderland, spurs ... 2 games on loan for us.)
At the age of 35 he joined Bournemouth and scored 4 goals in 28 games.
He in now 37 and has scored 11 goals in 18 goals in the Scottish Premier League.

That is the long version of "Scottish football is crap."

Point proven. Celtic just got knocked out of the CL by a team who I hadn't heard of until tonight. <laugh>

If Messi played in Scotland, he would still be a good player, however Tierney is unproven, let's hope his prowess was exaggerated by the league he played in

Be funny if he turns out another Alan Hutton rather than another Andy Robertson.
