The saddest thing to me in this whole sorry saga is that Koeman just trampled over his relationship with the Saints fans. He had almost universal backing, even through the slump and he very often mentioned the part that the fans played in the success. He always said that he was happy here and had no immediate plans to leave and I believed him because he had always been honest with us.
I just hope that it backfires on him and he won't get the comfy backing from Evertonians if things get a bit sticky for him.

It is quite sad. And nothing quite adds up, for me. If we didn't want him to go why did we offer him a contract? On the other hand, if he's so keen to go to Everton then why is it taking so long? All very odd.

Very true, he was extremely popular but I think most people wouldn't take him back now.
