I may be being blind/interpreting posts differently but I haven't seen anyone on here really blaming the board? Saintsweb different matter. I asked if there had ever been a time when Les had done one of his positive interviews and then it come to fruition as I was just wondering if perhaps it is a PR tactic by the club (nothing wrong with that and certainly not something I would blame the board for).

I did wonder if it was a way to put pressure on them if the board were having doubts on them signing. It shows the fans we are doing all we can and if they don't sign the board won't be blamed (by the majority anyway). It makes their side public. Did the agent get sacked just before the Telegraph and Les interviews?

Absolutely I know that and if you go back early in this saga, I said that too. My point is that I find it strange that some people "have a go" (nicely) at those that are starting the name calling of Koeman. I am not really on about the rights and wrongs, but the bit I find strange is those that question why some of us are being silly and name calling Koeman. I live in a football dream world when it comes to Saints and I got to the point where it was clear Ron was leaving and decided to let him have it. People then questioned why we would do that from their sensible real world point of view.

This has gone on so long (in terms of posts and pages) that the points have drifted.

I am a passionate football fan. I am sorry.

Anyone who leaves Saints for a bigger, smaller or medium-sized club is a twat - that is a fact.

Crikey we have no control over anything at all, except maybe to make ourselves feel a bit better about crappy situations, so if that works great.

I can't see any top-class football people going home and crying about it. Ever played football against ex-top pros? Confidence and self belief is not something they lack or ever will.

They can take it - we fans can't, so I say bite back and have some cathartic fun.

The mentalists that attack peoples families and keep it going for twenty years need help but you'll always get those in any walk of life anyway - some have been my boss over the years.

I see a lot of the 'I don't want him' managers are finding other clubs - De Boer is allegedly off to Milan and Emery is signing for PSG, Howe doesn't want to go to us [not worried reallly to be honest] and that leaves only Moyes or AVB on the guesstastic list - except of course AVB doesn't want to manage in England again [who can blame him], so it's gonna be Moyes [oh hoorah] or someone we've never heard of, or worse someone we have that is massively underwhelming.

Also having a quick early morning skim through the forums and news outlets and a strong rumour appears to be the hold up is down to Saints having a no-poaching clause added to the agreement which Everton will not agree to - so they are definitely after our better players and of course RK will probably know the release clauses, wages, etc and despite all of our hopes and beliefs we all know that money means everything and contracts, no matter how far-dated, are just guarantees to get the selling club some extra money and not any statement of intent.

I'm not feeling in the slightest bit confident or terrible happy at the moment. Only in a supporting a football club sense of course I do realise it is not a particularly big and important thing in the overall scheme of things :emoticon-0100-smile

I guess we'll see who they want more the manager or the players. No clause no manager. :)

We'll get someone good to replace koeman, haven't done much wrong in that regard for a long time.

Just the summer of turmoil thing is getting a bit annoying! Was looking forward to watching the euros and seeing saints add a couple of players all under a koeman safety net!

Regardless we have a minimum of 3 European away days, just hope they're all in decent places, no Eastern block or further thanks!

How long would it take to forgive if Ron came back and signed a two year extension? That would have to be a *mighty* spin job!

I doubt very much if the extension is still an option for him. I'm pretty sure if he doesn't go he won't be here long because Saints will replace him with someone who can take us further, as Koeman obviously doesn't think he is capable.

This has probably been said before (many times) but it is (just) possible that Koeman's agent spoke to Everton in order to get The Saints' board to up their offer. Everyone involved is playing very high stakes poker, and our board aren't about to blink. Everton (if the stories are believed) have offered a very large sum to Ron, but Ron himself hasn't leapt up to say that he wants this.
Could it be that Ron doesn't actually want to leave (who knows? maybe his family like it here?), but the whole scenario becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy, and our board are quietly searching out (may already have) a new manager, so Ron is almost forced out, but Everton still pay us compensation.

Fans of any and every club can't believe (OK, don't want to believe) that any individual would want to walk away from their club, just because another club offers more money (or any other reason that comes to mind), so we (well, me, anyway) choose to believe that Ron is an honourable man, but his hand is being forced by another club's dishonourable actions. That way, we get the compensation money, and retain the moral high ground.

Onwards and upwards, with or without the fat Belgian scouser (OK, I've let my mask of reasonableness slip)

I have no problem with Koeman leaving, i would have loved him to stay and sign a new deal but he obviously didn't want to do that. I am slightly worried that a few of mine maybe not the clubs perferred replacements may not be available for too much longer.

Do you think we will get a replacement in before the end of the euro's or maybe there is an international coach that we could be after once the euro's have finished.

The trouble is the Euros end in July the season starts in August - I'd like the new person in as early as possible so they can set up how they like and start targeting players they feel might help nice and early.

Then when the season starts were all set and ready and perhaps the press will be on about how we've set up professionally and are looking good - or maybe not.

For the 2017-18 season I'd like a nice fairly quiet summer break and lead up to the start.
