I'm generally not the most pro-board person, but if Koeman wanted to simply see out his final year, that's the right play. If that's the case though, it would be rather nice if we stopped talking about Koeman being dishonourable...both parties will have done what is right for them, leading to an outcome that ultimately suits both far better than a lame duck year.

I'll say it again. Given the way that things have played out, I find it very unlikely that the problem is Koeman wanted to finish out his contract but Saints are showing him the door. Or that it's a mutual parting of ways.

You can try to spin it or whatever, but it seems like the most obvious explanation is that Everton has stepped in at the last minute and simply made Koeman an offer that was too good for him to refuse.

You can dislike him for that or not.

You've been following this thread pretty much all along. I'm not having a pop, and much of what goes on I agree is media stirring, but this has been pretty obviously happening since yesterday morning.

I've been out all day working, just got in, made and had dinner, and just started reading. Give someone a chance FFS.

And tbh, I haven't been following this stuff much. I've just been popping up the links that don't follow the trend.

Holy **** I've just realised not only do i need to change my avatar but we're going to have to change Van Dijk song <laugh>

On a more serious note I hope there's a clause that relates to not being able to sign from us

That tells you eveyrthing about our club building reputation for both managers and players.

Indeed. And if Ron goes, then there's every chance that his replacement will also be a success and be sought after/poached in two years time.

Thread anyone for the replacement's replacement?

Well you've been fairly adamant that it's not happening, which would be an odd stance to take by someone who hasn't been following the story?

Wanyama and Pelle were probably going to leave anyway. And Long? No way. Didn't seem to bothered on Sky Sports earlier?

Indeed. Where Wanyama and Pelle are concerned, it's nothing new.

In fact, it might allow us to get a bit more money for them, if Everton were to enter the race for them. (Whether we'd sell to Everton, ala Spurs, would be questionable though).

I was another who was uneasy about him seeing out the final year but I completely agree that this is how it currently looks.
