Assuming the RK has all but gone, who is our target? Can we tempt the Sevilla manager as that is the calibre of manager Saints should be looking at? Or maybe Jochim Lowe would like a return to club football. Others I am partial to ,,,,, Clarence Seedorf, Patrick Viera (the man I think will be Arsene's successor but will need to cut his teeth elsewhere first). Saints would be nigh on perfect, and the recently retired Inter player Zanetti!!
Oh I agree. Lallana for me was worse than Poch/Koeman et al. Look, ambition, ego and £££ have always made people blind, and forget how good the thing in their hands is. I do think the set-up here flatters people - managers and players alike, and many get found out a bit when they go. Poch has a bit more to him than that. I think Ronald could struggle. But I get why they do it. For all the proclamations of this and that on here, the absolute majority under similar circumstances would do the same. It's 5 million quid a year more. That's £416k a MONTH more. And the ego is satisfied and compelled by the realisation the opportunity is there to spunk loads of cash and build a massive club. The reason people get het up here is we're fans of the club. They're not. They're employees of a business.
I don't even dislike Lovren or Lallana (as I think I have made clear on here before). I've long since accepted that players and staff come and go, and not once have I ever cared about the circumstances in which the departures took place. All I care about is that adequately replace Ron, if he does go.
It is also possible that he will go but not sign for Everton. I believe he has enough money to last a few months.
I'm not going to pretend I don't share your disappointment, but I will give the man a chance to explain before castigating his character. If saints didn't want him to play out his current contract(and a few on this forum were uncomfortable with that notion) then I can understand that it was either extend with saints or look for another project
Bookies and Press are all over the place, it appears because nobody is saying anything. Everton have said nothing. Southampton have said nothing
I don't even give consideration to the "hard for them to turn down" stuff. He said he wasn't going and even if he hadn't said that, if he is leaving my beloved club in this manner, he can do one. I make no apologies for that. I won't abuse him now as I hope this falls foul and he stays for another 2-3 years, but I'm clearing my throat for my, "You're just a fat ginger scouser" chant, just in case.
Unfortunately TSS, I think you're clutching at straws a bit. As good as done, just hurry and get it announced so the excitement can start
One thing is for certain.les reed needs to stop putting out these videos about ongoing contract talk cos he has been made to look silly again.he is doing a good job with the rest tho
Oddschecker currently only showing BetVictor (although clearly William Hill are offering odds too, based on Beefy's post): http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton/next-permanent-manager
It almost reads to me like he's passed through a time warp and is 24 to 48 hours behind the rest of us.
