He's also very young and will have learned a lot. Koeman was pretty dreadful at Valencia, yet apparently he's now the sixth best manager in the world. So....let's see.
Agreed, but whilst there is no loyalty, there are certainly contracts. Ron has one and we will extract a price if he wants to break his.
Not having that. He's perhaps not the most flexible, but he got 72 points with Spurs (their best ever) and played some good stuff. You don't get 72 points in the Prem if you're a mug. Not having it.
Oh dammit. I have just realised that I will probably have to listen to anti-Koeman chants at St Marys next season, as well as those for Pochettino, Lovren and Lallana. Great!
And not just this forum. The SaintsWeb ITKs stated that the board held a meeting about his shortcomings and were close to firing him. That's football, like it or not.
I'd be very excited if we got AVB, much more so than Howe who I think is a bit of a gamble with where we are as a club and where he is in his career. He didn't exactly set the world on fire with a decent Burnley team. Also there's the added advantage that I can potentially exchange beard tips with AVB, make it happen, Les.
Villas-Boas was someone who came to mind yesterday when I was thinking who would be possible replacements. Would be my second choice behind Steve Evans.
Working 50 hours a week - standard daily grind. Dog walking with the kids. Couple of ****e package holidays, pruning my hedges at the weekend. Getting pissed to drown out the pain of life.. Good enough?
Steve Evans the guy that recently (wrongly) got sacked by Leeds? What makes you think he's worth giving a top 6 Premier League job to? I can only assume you're joking.
Could be a good shout. He's getting on a bit and might fancy a few years by the seaside. Good manager and a good fit.
Is that some kind of ice cream, similar to a Magnum, ones that are covered in chocolate and sometimes they have nuts on them? If that didn't make him stay I doubt much else wil...
Seeing as we're the rehabilitation club for managers with question marks above them, then turning them back to world class - AVB it is then. I'm sold (agree with Gucci - prefer him to Howe personally).
Also worth noting that the reason ABV left Zenith was because of his family. This may mean he wants to simply be closer to Portugal,in which case the south coast woukd be fine. Or perhaps he wanted to live in Portugal with his family. Potential stumbling block.
