The neatness of his beard always impressed me.

    He's available isn't he?

I'd be very happy with ABV or Howe in fairness. As long as we don't lose anyone but wanyama this summer it won't be too bad really.

Howe, Emery or AVB. Anyone of those and I'll be happy.

I might actually be more excited by AVB than Koeman. I mean, we were doing fine under RK so I wouldn't take the risk of sacking him. But if I were say, Everton or some other club with no history with Koeman I think I would rather have AVB.

I would be a bit surprised if we could actually get him, but if we did that would be great.

Can we give the next manager a 4 year contract so they stay 3 years.

We'd be stepping stone for AVB, just saying. Now I've said it, I don't even care, just an expendable component to help us on our way. Screw contracts, just turn up then **** off. <laugh>

Guan over on saintsweb, has put a smiley face against AVB? He has a pretty good record for being ITK. Has hinted at a lot of underhand crap going on, and will tell more when all sorted?

Yep, you're right. Guan posts smileys when people mention players/managers that are serious contenders to join the club.

I'd find AVB an exciting appointment. European experience and harshly treated in England before.

A very modern, thorough manager who I can see fitting well with the club's philosophy.

AVB left Zenit on the 26th of May 2016, too - so he's out of work right now and we wouldn't have to wrangle with the Russians to try and get him.

    Makes sense.

AVB commented when he left England after Chelsea and Spurs that he wasn't sure he'd come back because twice he'd signed up for a long-term project and the club changed tact and wanted everything tomorrow.

I mean, philosophy wise he suits us and if he wants a long-term project then here we are, that matches the board too.

He's also out of work as of last week, which helps. He's won the Europa League and has a lot of honours.

    Bugger me, I'm excited!

Agree, harshly treated by spuds, and if memory good, didn't he get the same amount of points as MoPo. Plus if he could get 1 or 2 players from Zenit??

I think AVB sets the team to play a pretty damn boring football.

Yep, he's a fit, but you can imagine the clamber for him after a couple seasons of success with us. He has worked in lots of countries already.
Anyway, nothing is forever, welcome to Southampton Andre*.

If you want to consolidate your top 6 status on a limited budget why not Moyes?

Because he plays **** football and he doesn't fit the club's philosophy.
