Moshiri has been involved in PL football quite a while now, having had a 30% combined stake in Arsenal with his mate Usmanov.
So he's not some delusional billionaire who's just rocked up and is going to expect instant success imo. As he knows just how much 'instant gratification' costs in the PL. Ultimately the realistic expectation will always be in relation to the budget, so we'll wait and see just how much that budget ends up being mate.
As Blues we are generally quite pragmatic and we're also capable of sussing out a bullshitter fairly quickly, which is why many of us weren't having Martinez for about 18 months prior to his demise.
Your scenario reminds me of when we got new owners, pumped a lot of money in (for the level we were at) paid over the odds to get a "top" manager and what was expected was not knocking on the door towards the top. It was to get to the top. Pardew missed out on the play offs which I would think was the minimum target and while he did get to start the next season he was out as a failure very soon and scooped up to be manager of Newcastle
I think Koeman could well see the same scenario here. If he does not get Europa League and a decent cup run he will be sacked.
