thinking more (well sort of) there are only 4 teams that can get in to the top 4. Leicester - manager staying Spurs - manager staying Arsenal - probably manager staying Man City - some new bloke who will be brought down to earth Chelsea - some new bloke who will be brought down to earth Man Utd - only possible move for Ronald in my opinion West Ham - manager staying Liverpool - manager staying Southampton - I'd say evens for top 4 on current form. Everton - you're having a laugh! (oh and maybe Sunderland!)
Can't believe BBC Sport. Earlier they pinned up a headline saying. Koeman not interested in Everton job. Fair enough, I thought. Now everyone will know and shut up. Now they report that Koeman expects to stay at Southampton. That's a slightly different slant and a bloody lie, in my opinion. They know he's staying for the remainder of his contract, not expecting to. They're just doing it to keep the pot simmering as long as possible. Why not just report what has been said.? Don't interpret or invent. I expect better from BBC Sport. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36288434 Of course, when you bother to read the text of the article, it becomes a little more definite, but some people won't bother and will get the wrong idea. Oh, and by the way, Auntie, he got us to 7th in his first season. Not 8th. 8th was Pinocchio's best figure.
Agreed - cannot see this happening. What I find interesting and somewhat positive is that the players are agreeing new contracts; I cannot imagine they would commit to such lengthy contracts (possibly JWP aside) if RK had not been factored into the willingness to commit to the future as VVD and FF have. I appreciate that this is subjective; but given RF is at the helm of this Saints Ship, I would be surprised they would commit without some level of surety being provided that he would be around for more than one more season.
He doesn't really make sense. Atm there is nothing to suggest Koeman wants to go to Everton. It's all gossip.
My point was that Tobes has said Until RK is asked if an offer came in WILL HE STAY AT SOUTHAMPTON and RK says YES HE WILL STAY AT SOUTHAMPTON , then it is not 100% certain he will stay . In that respect TOBES is correct .
According to Blackmore he said he isn't interested. The interview is up at 6pm. Koeman has always said the same line over and over again. He has done the same at previous clubs as well.
I know that & You know that , I was simply trying to point out TOBES correct ( pedantic in the extreme ) point .
During the interview he was asked about FF extending his contract, and his response (whilst trying and failing to hide a brief, but cheeky, little grin), was something like "We like to keep our best boys". Just hoping he includes himself as one of the "best boys".
No, I saw that. Just figured that Jeremy Wilson putting the facts out there, would reach a wider audience, than MLT, including people that don't just follow the Saints.
If anyone is still feeling a little jumpy about Ron, listen to this interview on Radio Solent, he doesn't sound like a man who's desperate to drive up the A33 to join the first club that comes calling...The interview starts at about 2 hours, 7 minutes. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03sc1kw#play
Does sound like something may be sorted next week in a positive way....as said, he doesn't sound like a man in a hurry to leave. However, I can't see him signing a long contract because he isn't used to that, but I'd settle for a year's extension and see where that gets us.
