As well as our lot invading cities across Europe there'll be thousands of foreign supporters coming to Sunderland.

That's going to be a massive boost to the profile of the club/city and the local economy.

The club will already planning how to present the area in the best possible way.

I'm hoping pressure can be applied to the transport providers, the council, etc, to make sure people go home with the best impression of the supporters, the city and the club ...

... people arriving from abroad need rapid reliable transport and good facilities.

Areas around the train station, the bus station and, yes, the back alley of the Deaf Club, etc, need sorting out.

The mobile barriers on the approaches to the ground need replacing with things people aren't tripping over for example.

This is a massive leg up and everyone needs to take the chance to make it all a better experience imo.

I really can’t understand why build a massive foyer for the station and leave it as an empty shell. The toilets are tiny in comparison <doh>

When I was driving around earlier, I saw 1 of the great unwashed and it got me thinking do we need to target the league cup next season. I believe we don’t join in until the 3rd round, so we only need to play 3/4 games in the competition to win it and it guarantees you conference football as a minimum. Be a good fallback just in case the europa league is a washout and would proper cause a massive meltdoon!. Only teams I think that will prioritise this are spurs and Chelsea because of no European football next season.

I know we need to see the draw first, but if we are only going to get 2k-3k tickets for the away games , how doable will getting tickets in the home end be?.

Great thing with that part of Germany is stacks of great cities all writhing about 40 mins on the train.

If Frankfurt is full there’s so many great cities to base in.
I've just been told by my youngest son that they've booked rooms in Meinz (?) which is apparently 30 mins on the train to Frankfurt .

Optimistic bugger :emoticon-0102-bigsm
I've probably got the details wrong but the important point is that they have rooms close to Frankfurt.

Possibly getting ahead of myself here but Frankfurts ground hasn't got a great capacity.
If we were to get to the final there are going to be a lot of genuine SAFC supporters who will not get tickets.
