Perfect timing, avoided all the adverts and switched on just in time for kick off. Then what happens? <yikes>

Does head-to-head come before goal difference? If so, and we lose this, an Anschluss game between France and Sweden knocks us out even if we win against Ukraine.

yay me...£1 on at 33/1 for a 2-3 scoreline...it won't help me retire but i'm rather chuffed :)

Good work Hornette, that is a tasty £34 right there ! I watched this in a bar with some mates, was good to see England win but I was made to suffer for it as usual. If we can get through the group, which looks more likely now, we might shine as Rooney might add a bit of necessary class and bite. Fingers crossed, Hodgson has done well so far, conducted himself with dignity, pride and conviction. Moreover, inspired substitutions help a lot !! <magic>

Right now I'm off to Leon, Guanajuato to see my future father-in-law (the devil) and the rest of the future-in-laws (sent from heaven to combat the devil). Have a good weekend all and see you in the forthcoming week.

Ciao for now ! :1980_boogie_down:

Who will make way for Rooney next match? Young and Milner did not play well in my opinion yesterday, but can we do without wingers?

Great result, even if a nail-biter! Well done to Walcott. Think they had a stat that he only had possession for 17 seconds for the 34 minutes he was on the pitch - 2 crosses, 100% success rate which lead to 1 goal, and the other should have been. 1 shot, 1 goal...

As for Ukraine. Would like to see Roy rest Young and drop Milner. Play Walcott and Ox on the wings. I think they will drop Carroll for Rooney.

You could say that it was Gerrard's 'wing play' that led to the first goal, so one of the two may find himself dropped. If RH keeps the same formation though, I suspect that Wellbeck may be the one to give way for Rooney - I'd certainly keep Carroll for his aerial power and go for twin 'battering rams'. :)

Last night's game proved two things: that we can't defend well enough to win this tournament, but that we do have the attacking players to possibly come out of a tournament feeling proud of our lads for the first time since at least 1996.

It would be a shame if Carroll gets dropped for Rooney as he played brill, the same with Welbeck but which one would you drop, it's a tough call but I think we should see Carroll and Rooney start on Tuesday
