Is it me or is Lauren James, fat, lazy and total dog ****?

She was doing my head in tonight in the same way that a lot of 'mercurial' players in the men's game sometimes do. I often found the likes of Abel Hernandez really frustrating despite his obvious ability because he'd make daft, selfish decisions and at times sort of amble around almost not playing, particularly after something went against him. Bellingham can be similar for England mens as I think we've talked about before. James tonight did everything at a sort of arrogant, laboured pace and got nowhere as a result. There were times where she had the ball and we could've really broke onto them but she wanted to hold onto it and slowly stride about. The frustrating thing is she can absolutely bully people with her speed and power when she's at full intensity.

In contrast, Hemp on the other wing is really talented too but she's also constantly focused, selfless and makes good, efficient decisions consistently.

It’s remarkable how good that training is. Kelly also looked 100% confident that she was going to score too.

Kelly is a brilliant penalty taker. I was surprised she was so far down the order. At the last world cup her winning penalty against Nigeria was a faster shot than any Premier League goal that season. The keeper went the right way but the shot made her irrelevant.

Bellingham is a shoe in for England which is a mistake .
Cole Palmer takes a back seat and I think it would be better if he started

I didn’t watch it but I’ve just seen the highlights. Not exaggerating when I say it looked like a Soccer Aid penalty shootout. Kelly is the only female player I’ve seen who can take a pen as good, if not better, than most male players.

I think both the men and the women have done that practice, you could see it in Bronze's penalty. The ones that missed all did a similar thing to what Sancho and Saka did in the Euros final: lost focus, rushed it, got neither power nor placement and gave the keeper an easy save. You could see they never looked like scoring in both cases.
I actually called the Swedes out to my son as looking frightened

Sweden's last penalty taker is an 18 year old debutant :emoticon-0101-sadsm All in tears afterwards

Some very odd decisions in general, subbed a striker on with 3 minutes to go, didn't take a pen. Instead the goalie (never takes pens) got the chance to score the decider but had a shocke (but did save 4 tbf....)

She really didnt have to save them if you get my gist...

One was dragged wide, to be fair
Yes I saw that later. Only saw the second at the time. For years I think the quality of Pen taking had dropped. Male or female. A good while ago you expected the pen to be scored yet I seems the strike rate has dropped. I think this happened since players started ****ing around with short run ups and trying to overthink it.

Couple that with goalkeepers being more athletic, and generally bigger

Still do when it's against City <laugh> When was the last time we had one missed against us?

Urgh I was really looking forward to France v Germany but red card in the first 15 mins will probably ruin it.

Deserved though.
