That was our best performance of the tournament and we just about deserved the result against a Swiss team who beat Italy and led Germany after 90 minutes. They had a couple of good chances in extra time, largely because we had so many attackers on the pitch, but we were in control for much of the 90.

Saka had his best game, as did Foden. Konsa was excellent too. I thought we nullified Xhaka quite well, he wasn't nearly as effective as he might have been.

The idea that Southgate is just constantly lucky is daft. He might not be a pro-active manager, but it wasn't luck that we got back into the game. He made changes and we went all out for that equaliser. The lack of control after the subs is the reason, he's about solidity first. I'm not saying I necessarily agree, but the all out attack that some want us to play will leave us wide open to counters from good teams.

Anyway, we're in yet another semi-final, we've won yet another penalty shoot out and we've not even got into 3rd gear yet.
Halleluja mate. This is tounry footy, not league footy.

Anyway, me and my boys on the bevvy. Memories...

Defended Southgate for years with my mates but this year I’ve found him to be really bad, I will say this tho (few beers in) tournament after tournament in my life time, we’ve had elite players and been disgraceful up until our underwhelming exit. This is his 3rd semi final in 4 competitions, he deserves credit for that.

I worry he’ll cost us this year but really hope he finds the solution for this team and we click just when it matters. Haway England

Two games to go, who knows what will happen, say we win the tournament..... Southgate deserve a crack at the World Cup or leave on a high?

Sounds ridiculous to say but even if we win the whole thing I think he should be replaced. He is so fortunate that Bellingham scored a once in a lifetime goal to save us from an Iceland level exit. Took penalties against as nice as a quarter final you could probably get. We’ve rode our luck so much this summer, but at the end of the day, we’re in the semi final and have an unreal chance of a consecutive euros final so fair play.

Not ridiculous mate, it's an opinion. For me, we've shown we build and grown into tournaments. We'll have to see what happens in the next week.

After what I saw tonight I’m way more confident for Holland than I was after Slovakia. 2018 and 2021 we possibly peaked too soon. Maybe we will click at the perfect time. In Berlin for the final too so praying I’ll be there to see England win a trophy, be something to tell my grandkids if I’m fortunate enough to have them!

You're going to Berlin? Nice one mate. I have a very sneeky feeling about us and have from the start. I've kept positive from the off and I just believe Southgate knows what he is doing. Never show your hand early, we've adapted our play when needed. Not going overboard, but other than Spain, I've seen very little that would bother us. Everyone has just played their game and changed very little

Germany out
Italy out
Austria out
Portugal out

France, haven't scored in open play Semi Final

England, bashed by all media, Semi final.

Sometimes in football, things just happen.

I am mate. Pure coincidence, didn’t know it was the final weekend haha, guess my lass can do right every now and then.

Without a doubt he’s shown he knows how to manage a tournament in the past, think he’s struggled this year but the players he got on the pitch for the penalties were absolutely bang on. It feels like it’s falling into place for us. Biggest test so far coming up on Wednesday but a pretty good semi final draw, I think we’ll get through

I think that's fair. In my opinion we've got to this stage despite Southgate not because of him. He just happens to have a squad packed with so much talent that even the most determined saboteur couldn't stop them from having a good run.

He'd be a disaster managing a club side imo. On a par with the likes of Parkinson and Grayson, if he's lucky.

Just home. Good day with some cracking lads. England bang average but they’re through - what tournament football is all about. Thought I was on for the 4/4 quarter final draws with 20 mins to go, feel for Turkey there - they’re no mugs. Bring on the semis.
