Format
There will be 6 Sets of fixtures published for predicting the results of the upcoming Euro tournament in France.
- 4 Sets of 9 matches from the Group stages, published in chronological order of k.o. times.
- 1 set of 8 matches from the Round of 16
- 1 set of 8 matches comprised of 4 quarter finals, 2 semi-finals, the 3rd place match and the grand final.
Each posted set will have a submission deadline associated with it. This will be 1 hour (GMT) before the k.o. time of the first game in a given set.
Any set posted by participating punters after the given entry deadline will be ignored in recording of results.
Any submitted set that has been edited after the appropriate stated deadline will be ignored.
(suggestion: If after posting a set you e.g. notice you forgot to put a score next to one of the teams in one of the fixtures...DO NOT EDIT YOUR ORIGINAL POST OTHERWISE YOU"LL MISS OUT ON THE OTHER PREDICTIONS IN YOUR POSTED SET. JUST LEAVE IT AS IS).
Participants should predict the 90 minute scores for all games in each set.
In the group stages, as soon as the first game has kicked off, the next set of fixtures will be posted and so on.
There will be roughly 60 hours (2 1/2 days) between the end of later rounds and the start of the next round (final group match set --> Rd of 16 --> QFs --> SFs --> Final). As soon as the teams are known after knock-out rounds, the next round will be published with submission deadlines.
The QF, SF and (3rd place + Final) fixtures will be published separately as the teams are known and points scored will be total up as the 6th set.
Scoring.
Points will be awarded as per normal: 3 points for correct score predicted, 1 point for predicting a W/D/L as the 90 minute whistle is blown.
Set winner(s) will be awarded 1 point or a fraction of 1 point in the case of multiple winner (e.g. 2 winners, 0.5 points per). An overall winner(s) will be determined at the end of the tournament. In the case of a tie, the tie-breaker will be the punter who had the highest score in any set they may have won or shared a win.
The points for each participant will be accumulated for all sets and a grand points winner will be announced at the end of the tournament.
