Euro '16 Predictions Competition - Final Results.

Note: Only those who submitted 2 or more full sets, or amassed 15 points or more have been reported.
Any requests for an audit of results will cost the price of a 20 goal-per-season PL striker. Be warned

1) Points - Column A
Sir Cheshire Ben and BojackHCAFCman share the honours on 43 points.. I didn't stipulate a tie-breaker for such a situation, so given Bojack had highest number of correct predictions (Column B) and Sir Ben shared both highest correct scores (3 pointers) predicted (Column C) and shared a set win (Column D), they should walk down the aisle together. Well done both of you.
Close on their heels with 42 points each were Quill, pierredelafranchesca & DocTigris. In nominal 3rd place were CANADATIGER and OLM with 37 points.

2) Game prediction accuracy - Columns B & C.
BojackHCAFC took the W-D-L with 29 out of the 51 games predicted correctly - almost 57 % success rate.
Sir Cheshire Ben & DocTigris both predicted the highest number of correct scores - 9 each.

3) Set winners- Columns D & E.
DocTigris took this category on the highest set score tie-breaker (1 win, high water mark score of 17 points).
6 others either won or shared a set win.

4) Appearances on the podium- (Column F).
3 points per set for a win(or share), 2 for 2nd place(or share) and 1 for 3rd place(or share).
Irememberwaggy had one each for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes for a table topping 6 points

cheers for doing it again my good man, sucks that i failed to predict a single semi of quarter!!!!

 

You did manage to get a point for the France vs Iceland game. I was the only one to fail to get a point for both quarters & semis.

I thought your prediction (1-1) was the perfect score to give you a proper chance at taking the overall win. With Ronaldo & Griezmann around, it was highly unlikely to be a goalless draw. I predicted a 90 minute score of 2-2 on that basis. Ronaldo's injury & Griezmann's ineffectiveness scuppered your chances.

 

Maybe Ben & Bojack will invite you to the winners event - see my comment in section (1) Points - Column A in post #241

 

Well done for coordinating all this. I suspect all those near the top tried too hard in predicting the final. A boring 0-0 seems so obvious in hindsight ....

 

Winners were 'atigerfan' plus another who both picked unlucky No.13!

I was sure somebody had 0-0 and had scuppered me.... thanks to Tigerscanada for letting me enter the competition anyway, a lot of fun

 

I was thinking that during the game, I went for France 3-0 on the basis of them being the hosts and their football history, just goes to show even a donkey like Eder can have his day too.... I seem to remember big 'Arry bossing him at the KC in the cup last season, you wouldn't have predicted him scoring the winner at Euro 2016 on the basis of that
