I thought Lewandowski would score the winner for Poland in Extra Time but it was not to be, so I have probably got the wrong game for penalties – Italy or Spain will go and win 3-0 in normal time so it won’t be Buffon v De Gea! :emoticon-0106-cryin

Racing certainty bet of the quarter finals: Portugal to lose.

Once it goes to Extra Time, this lot usually play for penalties. Having done nothing most of the game (indeed tournament) they finally came up with a (fortuitous) goal.

Yes, that is sour grapes because I had Croatia to win and I think Ronaldo is a spoilt brat that I want to see win nothing. Come on Poland!!!

I actually think they are going all the way to the final. Pepe looked to be the best centre half in the tournament yesterday and they have plenty of options coming off the bench. In the easy half of the draw too. In Ronaldo they have a player who can win games single handed with the right service.

Same old, same old. The Germans starting to look good now that it is a knockout competition, plus they are in the English half of the draw...

Pep Guardiola is going to make sure that they put a bell in the ball at the Etihad Stadium so Joe Hart will know when it is coming.

The Football Association says that they have a couple of candidates in mind for the vacancy as England manager: David Cameron and Jeremy Corbyn, as both of them will soon have plenty of free time and have the mandatory track record of abject failure in leadership that the role requires.

I guess we are all going to be cheering for Welsh Wales now...

Still struggling to see where England are...:emoticon-0138-think <whistle>

I had a good laugh with one of my work colleagues on Tuesday morning. It seems his brother was so confident of England being victorious that he had already booked a flight to France for the game and is now trying to offload the tickets.

Poland 1-1 Portugal (AET: 2-1)
Wales 1-2 Belgium
Germany 1-1 Italy (AET: 1-1; penalties)
France 2-0 Iceland
