A round of matches played and it is a struggle to find anybody that looks a good bet to win the tournament.

This tournament is rapidly becoming a lesson in how to dominate for three-quarters of the game and not get the result. Croatia must have all been “In Play With Ray” at half-time on the draw. They handed the Czechs a point.

Presumably UEFA will show some consistency and Croatia will get fined €150,000 and given a Suspended Disqualification to match that handed out to Russia. UEFA may not have any control over what happens outside the grounds but all that occurs within them is within their remit.

If we are supposed to be safer in Europe, I hope that the French police are not in charge of safety. Despite the apparent intense security, it seems that if you come from a country East of France it is okay for you to take pyrotechnics into the stadium. Mark Clattenburg must be wishing he had taken his holiday in Torremolinos.

In the ground there seems to be no police presence at all, virtually no segregation of the fans and fewer stewards than at my local working men’s club.

There were plenty of "stewards" there, but they were all stood on the edge of the pitch watching events in the stand unfold. Stewarding inside the ground at Euro 2016 has been outsourced to a private company which belongs to UEFA by the way ...................... another money-making scheme?

Have to say I've been pretty underwelmed by the tournament so far.The standard of international and football in general has slipped in the last few years.Leicester winning the premier league and one of the worse champions league in memory is proof of that. With Pirlo retired Iniesta and Modric are the only two really world class midfielders left in this competition. Football is all about pace and power these days to the detriment of skill and creativity, hopefully I'll be proved wrong but the standard of football globally is going backwards.Just look at the Brazil team in the last World Cup,Fernandinho and Paulinho pulling the strings. What you reckon Oddy,am I going mad?!

From the brief snippets I've seen Ste, the Copa America looks to be of a higher standard technically.

As for Euro 2016, I would venture that a large number of players are simply knackered after their domestic season. Too many games.

This Pogba lad is all the rage but from what I've seem he's not up to much.
Johnny Barnes and Pete Beardsley were proper English midfielders.Jack 'glass groin' Wilshere and James 'Square Ball' Milner will have a nice five minute cameo when they are nice on the eye and 'go close' but there not really the future of football are they.ALi seems to have something about him so hopefully he will progress and kick on.Right that's my rant over.Opening up a nice bottle of Peroni and hopefully watch Spain play some sexy football!
Oddy I heard Klopp went over to watch the Copa and blanked the Euros-When you look at the top players in Europe mainly coming from South America I think he is on the right the track!

That was a very bad foul by Long, a real leg breaker. Belgium are hard to understand, very elegant and talented, but just cannot put the ball away. I can see this slightly rustic Irish team beating them if they're not careful? Now, now, I did say "slightly"!

Well, seems Belgium have at last woken-up, thought they never would. That Courtois is real class too, makes goalkeeping look so bloody easy.
