My understanding is that with UEFA all bans are 1 match, unless they decide to add extra games in very severe cases. Though of course the severity of the case is decided by the player and his nationality rather than the actual offence. Did Robben actually do anything wrong? The commentator seemed determined to convince us all that it was selfish and petulant to go off the pitch on the far side, but couldn't it have just been for the sake of speed? It did get the sub on very quickly. Then they focused on him taking his shirt off and said "There's no need for that." Err why? Germany are annoying me already, they've had two wins and as you'd expect people are getting all excited about them, the BBC pundits after the game were ****ing over them but I haven't actually see them do anything yet. They've been outplayed in two games more or less, but managed to score the vital games in both. It's a cliche but they really are efficient little bastards.
I wouldn't say they were out played by any means. They were under the cosh from both the Dutch and the Portuguese for about 15-20 minutes, before then they looked pretty comfortable and good for victory. Infact they regained the ball well after the van Persie's goal. To be fair, it was just a typical German performance. Wish England were as clinical. Teams are always going to get chances in matches, but the Dutch looked out of sorts tonight. Obviously they've imploded and their egos have taken over again. Think Portugal might beat them and take second now.
I still think Holland have the best squad in the tournament after Spain, but it just isn't working for them. Very similar to watching City last season with the missed chances and lack of goals! They aren't very strng at the back, but neither are Germany or any of the other big sides. I think our back 5 is as good as anyone's.
Robben is an utter twat like Barton, theres no defence for scum like this though human nature to stand up for the afflicted I suppose.
I agree with this, our back 5 is an advantage we have over the other top sides (although I think we can still do better at RB)
Last time I watched an England game in Piper Paul Scholes scored a hat trick. I also got that pissed I was home by seven. I don't remember doing this but apparently I ordered two doner kebabs from Falcons and then hid behind the sofa giggling when the delivery bloke came to the door. My housemate, who had stayed in and had a bird 'round had to pay for them as I, allegedly, denied ordering them. It was the first time I had met this lass and according my housemate, otherwise known as Victor Mature, she wasn't impressed with NFU's behaviour. Calling a delivery man a lying **** is not the done thing apparently. My mate had to be reimbursed the next day, both kebabs untouched on the kitchen table. One of the lads I watched the game with ended up sleeping on the cycle track that runs from Spring Bank West to Anlaby Road. When he woke up his mobile and wallet had been nicked. Overall a satisfactory afternoon session.
Redknapp doing one could work in my favour, seeing as though it looks like Moyes is going to replace him. Jelavic will probably fancy following him down to the smoke so will no doubt look to impress so as he can get a great big wedge at Spurs. Expect a hat trick from him tonight. Trust me, there is some logic in that statement somewhere.
Explain? I don't like him much to be honest, the way he goes down annoys me and he's a bit greedy, but I don't know if he's scum or can be put in the same category as Barton. Am I mising something? We could do better at RB. Maybe taking our best right back would have been a start?
There are certain players that have a look about them, particularly when they're appealing to the referee, a look that makes you want to give them a dry slap. Cristiano Ronaldo and Arjen Robben top the list for me.
100% agreed ^^^^ this. Once we get Rooney back who knows what will happen. But right full back worries me. Micah Richards (with Walker out injured) should have been nailed on to go and is far better than Glenn Johnson. Our best right back is injured but then M.Richards becomes our best fit right back, surely ? +++++++++++++++ Lucky Holland. Cannot believe they still have chance of progressing into the Qtrs even if it is a slim one. Denmark chucked away a point to Portugal,, gggrrrrrr
In fairness though, he might be one of the many who refused to be on the standby list, so in that case **** him!
Does anyone think Mario Balotelli is actually any good at football? Just watching the Italy/Croatia game. He just does the most stupid thing all the time, he fails to spot the most obvious passes and falls over randomly all the time. Apart from his goal in the Manchester Derby last season, I can hardly remember him doing anything good, ever. I think his extra-curricular baggage makes him famous and because of that people think he must be good, cos I'm sure I've never seen him do anything that isn't rubbish. I can't see why they don't play Di Natale instead. Mind you, he'll probably do something awesome now I've said that.
He is technically brilliant but like you say he's a bit screwy so you don't see it, if he got himself right would be easily one of the top players in the world.
But would he? I'm not talking about his temperament off the pitch, I'm saying he doesn't seem to do much right on the pitch. He just seems to be playing to the crowd all the time and being silly rather than doing his job.
He's a great player mate, last one I saw like him was Cantona, and he has a few years to learn the game yet so going to get better and better.
