Guess it depends on where you get the statistice from ... and what counts ... what I can tell you is that he had key contributions in 4 of the 5 goals against Man Utd ... so the above just doesn't look right ...
In all fairness, based on that list no striker has got more than him, he's level with Aguero and that's it. That's not bad.
They're from the Premier League's website, though the numbers are exactly the same on ESPN, Statbunker, Teamtalk and every other site.
No you're just blatantly wrong. Welbeck is a striker that can play on the wing. Walcott is a winger that can play up top. Also I could swore I remember Walcott alongside Kane against Italy as WhoScored says http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/898216/Live You're talking about Vardy as if he's the old fashioned forward, granted I have seen as much of him as the Leicester fans but I remember seeing him play pretty much everywhere (wing etc) and I thought that he generally played off Ulloa, therefore a second striker. I would have no problem if England picked a completely experimental squad, dropped all the so called regulars for the next 2 games. But I think it's unfair on other players who have consistently played well in other positions who haven't got picked and it would appear that Roy has picked Vardy on a whim almost. But if he'd have also selected players like Tomkins, Shelvey, Noble who statisically look good then I don't think people would have cared that he'd picked Vardy. It's just not a rational selecting process and I think that's one of the reasons why the buzz about England is no longer there. The Brazilians pick everyone who is even remotely good enough and test them out and I don't understand why we don't do the same.
... spot on buddy ... the standard set over many years is one of distinct mediocrity ... one thing for sure, Vardy will not be standing around sulking in games - he will be chasing down defenders and causing them discomfort throughout his whole shift ... I wouldn't even put it past him to both learn and sing the fookin national anthem ... which will be a refeshing change
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CFh0_TZW0AAlGP-.png:large ... he comes out pretty well against some better known names
You can pretty much do anything with stats can't you? Now Football tweeted yesterday, that Vardy had the second most assists, of any English player, in 2015. I pointed out to them that if they'd made it, the most assists of any English player, in 2015, who was called Jamie, they could have put him first.
Wholly agree .. but would just say that I'm a great believer in picking players in form ... and Vardy, Cambiasso, Huth and Schmeichel have all been in excellent form over the last 8 games (barring Chelski when Huth had to come off injured quite early) ... and key to us taking thiose 19 out of 24 points in what has often been called the toughest league in the world ... What I can understand is opposition fans not liking Vardy - he is undoubtedly an annoying little **** who can get under people's skin ... as Mike Williamson and Daryl Janmaat all too recently showed ... but I'd also argue that England, at times, could do with such qualities ... As I've said, he may not even come off the bench ... but if he does, the opposing defendeers will know he's there pretty quick ...
Fossie forgot to say "...from open play". at the end of that sentence. Which excludes penalties won, freekicks, corners and the like.
I can't believe you'd spend the time writing that out and not realise that you're talking utter diarrhea.
You'll like this one lads. We all know that Vardy is the pick of 'the rest'. He wouldn't get in front of Berahino, Kane or Sturridge. But how's this. please log in to view this image Note that none of them work nearly as hard as Vardy, nor do they have his pace (Agbonlahor isn't as fast as he was).
He may get further faster by stretching out his legs I'll give you that. He's surprisingly mobile for a big lad
All these have had caps since around the World Cup last year. I'm not even going to pretend that I know any of them Tardelli, Everton Ribiero, Elias, Jefferson, Gil, Victor, Cabral, Souza, Romulo, Goulart. All from wiki so might not be completely accurate. Some of those players play in China and the UAE unlike us who don't like picking from anyone outside the top 6
