Scott Parker for Euros. Rooney if Parker isnt playing.

    Phil Jones afterwards.

First team and bench if everyone fit:

    GK:Hart
    RB:Smalling
    CB:Jones
    CB:Cahill
    LB:A.Cole

    CM:parker
    CM:Wilshere
    CM:Lampard

    RF: Sturridge
    CF: Rooney
    LF: Oxlaide - Chamberlain

    Subs:
    Ruddy
    Baines
    Jagielka
    Cleverley
    Walcott
    Welbeck
    Holt

    Great team and bench that!

Don't you remember Darren Beckford's brace against Uruguay in the semi's of Mexico '86?

Instead of making snide remarks, say why thats not a good team.

Have you a problem with the formation or the players? Its not exactly an outrageous team choice...

Let's forget the ridiculous bench. Oxlaide-Chaimberlain has scored a couple of goals. Lamps is well past his sell by date and as for that back line?! Smalling's no full back. Horrible side - no balance.

    Hart

    Richards
    Smalling
    Lescott
    Jagielka

    Parker
    Wilshere
    Johnson
    Sturridge

    Wellbeck
    Rooney

Lescott and Smalling over JOnes and Cahill? Disagree there.

Possibly Richards at RB, forgot about him. Would still keep Cashley at LB though although BAines to push him close.

Parker , Sturridge and Wilshere we agree on. I think Oxlaide shows more promise than Johnson personally and its not as if he gets to start every game.

Lampard is underrated and still a good player that can grab goals when you need it, would at least have him on bench.

The bench isnt ridiculous either. Ruddy is easily the second best English goalie at the minute. Holt is scoring as many as anyone else and is a true pro, plus the rest of my bench was quite uncontroversial. Welbeck, Walcott, Jagielka, Baines and Cleverley are all young, hungry good players who should be blooded in at the euros.

Judging by the defensive response of Ippo Fans I'd say my question "Would you be devestated if Grant Holt got a cap?" has been answered...

I didn't see any "defensive responses", quite the contrary...

It won't happen, mate, as well you know, but you better get an economy size box of Kleenex in, just in case!!

There may be a case for Ruddy but Holt's not anywhere close.

Anyway this is about captain... captain for me has got to be Scott Parker.

What strikers are definitely ahead of Holt though.

    Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge definitely.

    Defoe, Bent possibly.

But there isnt anybody else at the minute.

So considering we would take 5 strikers to Euros - if one gets injured then Holt should be in - no doubt.

PLus he is a good old fashioned CF, most professional and most liked in the country. Also the most hard working.

    HE SHOULD GO.

    Good old fashioned CF...

What the **** do you mean by that? Have we ever won anything with a "good old fashioned CF"

You're speaking in cliche's, sound good, but meaningless...

Name more than those 5 English strikers who are currently better than Holt, Welly? There are not any.

He has a very English CF style, thats what I mean Welly. Good in the air, works hard, good finisher, bullys Centre backs. An honest pro who will fight for his team and team mates

Crouch, Agbonlahor, Carroll and Ranger are definitely not. Holt is outscoring and playing better than the lot of them.

To suggest Wickham is laughable, Young isnt a striker.

When we got promoted to championship you said Holt couldnt cut it, he proved you wrong.
When we got promoted to the prem you said Holt couldnt cut it, he proved you wrong.

Do you really want to be humiliated a third time? Holt for England.

    Wickham <laugh> priceless
