Im not getting into who said it but as a mod if you see people using that term should you "advise" not to use it again. If there was a Leicester member being racist/offensive as mod i would have a word with them
Just because they word Istan is placed at the end of a town or country doesn't mean it has any link to arabic or muslamic places, Istan basically means home or land, it's derivited from an ancient European language, Leicesteristan basically means Leicester is home, if we said Hullistan that basically means Hull is home. You may think it's racist but you can't prove it in any way.
Ok then next time you near Leicester just pop into one of the police station and start shouting "Leicesteristan" Im pretty sure after you say it you will have you rights explained to you
Well he's told me that there is a place in Hull called 'Spring Banks' and he refers to it as 'Spring Bangladesh'. I've asked him to go there and start knocking on the doors of people who live there in the hope they'll knock sense into him.
I have advised our posters about some of the things they've posted on here, Boothferry_Legend last week for instance, who's post was offensive, but the use of the term Leicesteristan is a wind up purely because you have a large Asian population, it's not in itself a racist remark(not unless you think there's something wrong with having a large Asian population).
It's Spring Bank and it's actually referred to locally as Spring Bankistan, though I'm not entirely sure why, as most of the population are actually from Poland and Kosavo.
No I didn't though did I, I said people in Hull call it that, but if I hear it I don't get offended because I don't live in Spring Bank, learn to read invalid
As said if you refer to someone in a negative way about their religion, background etc. It is racist Erik is on here now with another account making racist remarks. Doesnt he realise we can track his ip address?
As I've already mentioned, I don't use the term. Perhaps you can explain to me why 'Hull is a ****hole' is not an offensive remark?
In what way is it a negative remark? It's merely a play on the name of your city that reflects that you have a large Asian population. It's just like referring to Chelsea as Chelski, because they have a Russian owner.
Feel free to call Leicester a ****hole etc but when you bring race into it and make comments in a negative way its racist.
Neither is Leicesteristan, it basically means Leicester is home/land, in that case it is a stupid nickname for a place, why, who uses it towards you in a offensive manner?
But you wouldn't say it if you knew it wouldn't wind up our Asian community. You're making fun of it and it's down right racism. Now do as we've asked and all of you **** off and talk about it on your own board.
