If we can't get Elmo back surely there is now a sizeable gap in the wage to bring in a replacement? As good as Elmo is he isn't only right wing back in the country. There is only the Peterborough league game(which could be PP) between now and the end of the transfer window. IMO we need a Keeper, a winger back, two striker and another wing back if the budget can go that far.

It's bad news but its part of the gamble of loan moves, it's just that in the space of a couple of weeks it's caught us out twice now. I suspect it probably is MON trying to get a bit more of a transfer kitty by forcing us to buy.

Looking at the weather it seems likely that the Peterborough game won't go ahead. As some have suggested, this may be a ploy from MON to try and force our hand with a permanent transfer for Elmo. The Aluko injury is bad luck but we coped fine without him in December. Furthermore, we have a manager who is experienced and can probably deal with problems such as this effectively. I would certainly expect us to have at least a couple more new faces in the team by the time we play Millwall, be those permanent or loans. I'm not ready to write off our season just yet.

I'd be tempted to tell MON to ram it, and then desperately try to sign someone else, anyone.

I'd cut my nose to spite my face, 'cos he's been a bit cheeky here.

Common sense, however, would dictate that we're probably better off dancing to his tune and entering negotiations.

Ffs you would think you's had lost Ronaldo not ****ing Elmo!!

He's **** anyways

He's been a revelation for us this season and one of the reasons why we have done so well so far. He might not be great at premier league level but in the championship he's been brilliant.

Been out in the Hot Californian Sun today have we Ellwoods ?  I would not overly worry myself about this situation at the moment. MON has to sell and get players off the wage bill before he can add more. Danny Graham is now reported to have rejected all clubs apart from Sunderland. He wants to go home.

As for Chester being sold ? Not a chance. Remain calm all is well.

That's right. What we need now is a bit of the Dunkirk spirit!
Everybody sing:

Who do you think you are kidding Martin O'neill if you think Hull City's done,
Brucey is the boy who will stop your little game,
And Papa and young Ehab will soon make you think again.
So who do you think you are kidding Martin O'neill if you think Hull City's done.

Mr Elmo's off to Wearside on the icy A1(M),
But he'll be back by Sat'dee at ten million RPM
... (Edit; good eh?)
So who do you think you are kidding Martin O'neill if you think Hull City's done.

I havent even gone outside yet. It looks chilly, I might have to wear a long sleeve shirt today.

I still think we shouldnt spend everything now. The Chester thing was sarcasm clearly.

If you are superstitious bad things come in sets of 3. So we got one more piece of news on the way.

Guardiola's not coming.

This does smell a bit like MON is trying to push our hand to by Elmo, he did a similar thing with Meyler, threatening to take him back. However it does highlight to those that were saying with Brady and Meyler just keep them on loan, why buy now, just how risky loans can be if the player can be recalled.

Yes mate i would, o'neills 1st full season in charge, he's building!

For what its worth, i think you'll get elmo and campbell but we need players in first, he has said as much

Fair do's....just thought you'd be higher in the table (ignoring your smallish squad) with money spent on players, O'Neil in charge, time in the league etc.
