I've always wondered how Saha passes a medical?

Something must be wrong with him since he's had 3 clubs in 2 years.

It would be our luck he'd come here and automatically get crocked.

He's looked ****e when he's came on in truth, but then it's hard to make an impact in sort bursts.

He's not been injured, and surely would still be very capable down a level.

We won't be selling Campbell now, realistically.

Of course, you can buy from other clubs, but where's the fun in that? ;)

    Oh dear. Snowman ffs.

On a pay IF you play deal he would be ok for the rest of this season. Knows where the goal is.

the story being banded about that any transfer fees for the transfer window coming out of the summer budget - is that a summer budget for staying the same league or budget for a new season in the PL? We all know the issues we had as a club by spending beyond our means in the past, and it certainly looks like the Allams aren't going to as Mr Risdale once said spend stupid money on "Living the dream". And as with all clubs we could be claiming not to have a budget so we can get players on the cheap, or on the flip-side we could have a budget for this window - as surely any owner who has been at any English club would know that some money has to spent to give the side a boost.

Let's not panic about a couple of players having left on loan and needing a few players until the last day of the window, if nothing has happened signing wise

I'm in the 'recall to force our hand into buying him' camp, or at least I sincerely hope that's the case 'cos we will miss Elmo big time otherwise. Problem is, of course that if we do buy him, where are we going to get any dosh to get in a much needed first choice goalie and an even more needed striker that can do the business for us. Quick answer is that we can't, the Allams don't have a bottomless pit so I'm afraid our dreams of promotion this year will have to stay just that, dreams. Bit of a pisser really 'cos I've got £50 on us going up at 9:1 !

Poodleism hits the City boards.. FFS

MON is clearly forcing an offer for Elmo.. but we won't go oer Lesta's offer I don't reckon

Prossie needs to step it up & so does Cam Stewart.. their chance is now.

This is a proper blow. Far bigger than the Aluko injury. We really need Elmo, there aren't many players in this country who can do the job he does.

We need to stop ****ing about relying on loans and just buy the players we need. The Brady and Meyler deals sent out a message and we need to follow that up by signing Elmo, a couple of strikers and Stockdale.

If I was Leicester I would put in a bid for Chester and Koren. You hit an opponent when they are down.

We will make the top six.... Anything else will be a great Bonus... No club can ever be sure of an automatic place not even Cardiff ...

I really wouldn't be surprised to end up with Elmore back , and / or the Allams and Steve Bruce working some magic in the next week or so.

    It's a knock yes .... BUT it's Not all over yet ..

    IMO

I haven't read all this thread so apologies if covered but I think all the last 7 days have done is highlight that perhaps we're just not quite ready yet. Bruce has changed a hell of a lot of the team - for the better - yet we're still clearly short a keeper, a wing back and probably a striker from the starting XI. the summer will see a huge chunk of the back-ups leave as they're out of contract so he basically is constructing a whole squad in a year. It's a big ask to do that and get promoted.

I think we probably need another 2 windows and Fryatt fit.

Actually, to be fair, the Allams purse is pretty much a bottomless pit. How wisely they choose to spend it is up to them. I guess if done right, and we get the right players and promotion, then we won't need to spend so much next year as we'll already have the basis of a good premiership squad. Good quality players in their 20's.

Its a shame Stewart is in such a lull or we could revert to 442, as it is I dont know who would play wide right? Stewart, lol?

Remember when we use to foam at the mouth at the thought of Stewart and Brady on the wings...

The Allams are aware of the importance of getting promoted THIS season, financially. That is why they are releasing money now. Another two windows and it will be many times harder than now to get promoted.

Whilst I agree with what you're saying, I'd be inclined to think we're short of 2 in every position. Our 2nd string really is quite poor.
    Goalkeeper:
    Jakopovic: hmmm?
Oxley: been here 3/4 years and has had 10 mins of first team action.
    Rightback/Wingback:
    Elmo: gone
Rosenior: Is he likely to improve?
    Stewart: Jury's out
    Centreback:
Chester, Faye, Hobbs, Mcshane: I'm happy with them.
    Leftback/Wingback:
    Dawson: on his way out
Dudgeon & Brady: will both only get better- could do with a replacement for Daws but not until the summer.
Left midfield: Brady & Quinn- all good
    Right midfield:
Stewart- needs to prove himself and time is running out
    Centre midfield:
Koren- all good for 1/2 seasons
McKenna- age catching up to him
    Olifinjana- slow, unfit, ****e.
    Meyler- all good.
    Evans- all good.
    Forwards:
    Oluko- out till March
    Fryatt- out till next season
Proschwitz- finding his feet but will come good- I'm sure of it!!
    McLean- out on loan- recall?
In my opinion we need 2x keepers, 1x rightback and 2 strikers. This is not going to be cheap.
Simpson: has had his moments but very inconsistent with one-on-ones. Should be into double figures by now with the chances we've created

Maybe we should look at this season as a learning experience and build for the 2013/14 season when we can get the last of the big wage earners off the bill- and by that I mean offer Mcshane and Roseniors a contract on reduced wages and sell Olifinjana to Tesco's and see if they can find a use for him?
