If he did want out its not like he can just say ok im walking away he would have to find a buyer so he could get some of his cash back.
I dont think he wants out he just wants the club run right we are going in the right direction.
Every club needs the books balanced at the end of the day its a business.
Much rather have ES & NQ & be where we are now slowly improving every season since we came back up.
It could be worse we could be like Boro, Portsmouth, Leeds & it could be much worse we could have an owner & chairman like up the road who dont give a **** what happens at least ES & NQ have both spoken about where they want to take the club.

Don't assume having an Arab own you is a good thing , look what happened with Portsmouth.You also have to factor in that Sunderland isn't a very attractive City to go to, compared to say Manchester or London. Unless something akin to what happened at City where they invested millions in the surrounding area for regeneration.

As mentioned, Sunderland is not heaven on earth, and it never will be, as traffic routes into the city are appaling, and it would be too big a job for our backward council to ever fix it.

I don't go along with this Sunderland Not being an attractive place to come as you would have to put Newcastle into that as well as they are that close. Footballers are there to play football not shop/party and these millionaires surely could afford to travel abit. As for Short I've read a few threads saying that Short dosn't know alot about the club/football, this is also nonsense as a friend of mine met him last year in the blackcats bar and was amazed at his knowledge of the club and of local and past rivalries.
Newcastle have had more recent success. And like it or not its seen as a far more attractive city than Sunderland.

I honestly think Short is trying to get the club to stand on its own feet and this is why the club appears to have the mantra "Every player has his price" and why Quinn beats the drum for getting people to pay at the turnstiles.
Look at the revenue raised v expenditure in the last 12 months, the club must be in credit.
If we sign the Korean then that will raise the clubs profile massively in Asia and that can only be a good thing in this emerging football nation and financially beneficial for the club.
If Short upped sticks - imo I only think he would ever do this if he had arranged another source of income for the club or a new owner - only by doing this would he guarantee to get the best return on his investment.
I was a lot more worried when Murray was trying to sell the club- we are a different proposition on and off the pitch.

Sorry mate, but proud Mackem as i am, to say you'd have to bracket Newcastle with Sunderland as a city is absurd.
Culture, beautiful old buildings, good restaurants and literally 2 minutes drive off the a1.
It's fact i'm afraid, but that's not to say that they are more attractive than us as a club at present.

dont like to think about it,but short is here for the long term imo he is a winer and this club is agreat investment for him he is branching out internationaly (milliband as vice chairman) the korean signing whitch will get us into the asian market ibelieve we will be atop premier club.
I don't know why this gets debated all the time. You play for SAFC you live in Durham! Manchester is a dump, so you play for MUFC you live in Cheshire. Simple.
Back to the OP, Short won't cash in because he knows we're a good bet in the long run. We get into Europe and he's got a cash cow. He's got to spend it to get it back, but he knows that already, being a billionaire and all.

I agree with that, everything the club is doing points towards long term financial gain and growth, he'd be mad to jump now, and he's not mad, he's a self made multi billionaire.
TBH I don't think we'd have any problems finding a new owner, EPL clubs are like a Rolex to the rich folk of this world, they're more like a trophy than a football club in the true sense.
Finding the right one would be the difficult part but as BB says, ES won't be going anywhere in a hurry.

I think ES sees the bigger picture and I may be naive but I think its more about the academy, the culture, the town with him and Quinn. I truly believe that these two are working on the principle make the sport great, people will watch and notice, then the city will attract the good and the rich. It is rose tinted, but why else are they doing what they do? Would anyone here put £50m into SAFC? Be honest!
