Off Topic Election

That's the problem with electoral system, there's no legitimacy. How can we get a Primeinister who gets only 30% of the vote. That means 70% of us didn't want him ffs. happened in 2010 and going to happen again. We should have a different system and then that would mean that every vote counted. My vote for UKIP is a protest because I know they can't win, but if they get 20% of the votes that would only be 10% behind the 2 coonts.

While I'm on one, Tories on 30% Labour on 30% both will get hundreds of seats. Lib have 6% and will get 30 seats, SNP have only 5% of the national vote but get 50 seats, and UKIP on 20% get 1 or 2 seats it fooking stinks. SNP should not have anything to do with us down especially if their 5% gets them 50 times the number of seats that a party with 20% gets. Not really democratic is it - stich up

Exactly mate and as I've said before, the Tories to comfortably win the most seats which I've put my money where my mouth is on. <ok>

Tories now 1/4 across the board to win the most seats, I got 10/11 last December. <cheers>

Labour minority and the Conservative/Lib Dem Coalition price is drifting, Conservative minority price is shortening. <ok>

Like Cameron said, there's no legitimacy in Miliband trying to form a government if the Tories win more seats. <doh>.

Happy to settle for a Conservative minority if need be as I can't see many wanting to do a deal with them but we'll see, the chance of power can make people change their positions. Who would have thought the Tories and Lib Dems would have done a deal before the last election. <ok>

Alright Steve <ok>

Tories win by a landslide would be the best result all round <whistle>

But the only way it could change is if the parties it favours decide to do the decent thing.. !!!

It wont happen.

BUT there is a referendum that WOULD MATTER.

Indirectly yes. They too tried to spend beyond their means!! Worryingly, Labour still want to spend more, & thereby increase interest payments.

The UK had an influence on Spain, France, Germany, Greece e.t.c (well, the rest of the world), which caused the global financial crisis? We might not have been in as good a position as some, but we weren't as bad as the Tories would have you believe.

Thats not what Labour have said though is it. (Unless you read any of Murdoch's rags obviously)

They've said they still want to reduce the deficit, but with sensible spending in the right area's.

Where are the Tories going to find the £12bn that they're going to cut from the wellfare budget. Thats a big number, that they haven't quantified.

Am i a massive fan of Milliband the person, not really, but then i'm not a fan of any politicians. But all i see Tory politicians doing 90% of the time is "beware of Labour" "Look what happened last time" e.t.c. e.t.c. All politicians are guilty of this to a degree, but its all the Tories fall back on every time. Hows about a bit more about their policy's (that they'll renege on anyway obviously)

Fair points all round mate. Only time will tell as to what will happen and who will win. But heaven help us if it's Labour/SNP?

That is the question that has been put to them time and again. As Cameron has previously admitted he knows what is in 'the books' (moneywise) yet still they WILL NOT say how they plan to achieve their 12bn of cuts, whereas Labour party does not have access to the books and they are guessing at what the current finances are.

BBC reporting that 4bn of cuts to Welfare budget will be coming from the removal of Child Benefits from anybody that does not meet a Means Tested criteria to be announced.

If the current incumbents who know what the finances of the country are, are unprepared to tell the honest and open truth as to how they will manage these welfare cuts but instead say 'TRUST US', you can be sure of one thing, what they intend to implement will be unpalatable, otherwise they would be giving us good news with facts to back it up.

Farage and Sturgeon are the only leaders prepared to tell it as it is, Farage will not get enough seats to wield influence. Sturgeon will, and after getting what she wants for the Scots financially, the Scots will remove themselves from the Union leaving the rest of the UK with an inbuilt Tory government for the forseeable future............a prospect that fills me with despair
