Let's be honest - funding for political parties has always been an issue - in my lifetime the Conservatives have always held a funding advantage (apart from the last Gen Election, perhaps, when nobody was throwing away money on a guaranteed loser) from contributions from the wealthiest in society with 'vested interest' in Tory policies - particularly taxation that isn't weighted towards increased tax burdens for the mega rich...

Funding for Labour has tended to stem from the Unions or more philanthropic individuals or organisations ... and has generally been a fraction of what the Conservatives have received...

Frankly, it's ****ed-up - campaign contributions should stem from taxation, shared equally between 'major' parties and capped.

Not going to happen, of course.

Just my view, of course...

Just let parents parent. Endless legislation that’ll be impossible enforce or monitor for the sake of a headline nobody will remember the next day. Kids have a tantrum and it’s because they’ve got ADHD2XIA+ and a vitamin Z234 deficiency rather than the parents just being ****. Kid follows some dumb TikTok trend and gets hurt and it’s social media’s fault. Some kids are just thick and some parents are just ****. Unless people are forced to spend their lives in a massive roll of bubble wrap with a helmet on eating their government-approved rations they’ll do something thick eventually then work life out for themselves. It’s like we’re trying to create a generation of absolute drips.
Already happened

Another Tory MP just defected to Reform
Name rang a bell. Probably a good move if he wants to hang onto Romford. Great addition for the lads.

In May 2022, Rosindell was arrested by the Metropolitan Police on suspicion of indecent assault, sexual assault, rape, abuse of position of trust, and misconduct in public office.[63] He had been under investigation since January 2020 for events occurring between 2002 and 2009, when he was a whip and shadow minister. He repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.[64]

In February 2024, the Metropolitan Police concluded that the evidence held did not meet the threshold for prosecution and that no further action would be taken.

It’s an interesting strategy. I’d have thought somewhere like Romford which I’m sure is right up there on their list of winnable seats they’d not go with someone tainted by being the current Tory ****. Surprised they haven’t recruited Tom Skinner yet.

Don't know this one, I'd noted he was from Romford though. I'm really not sure this is going to work for them keep taking the dregs from the Tories, seems a suicidal practise to me.

I really don't think there is enough right wing people to push this party on, when I say right wing I'm meaning slightly more than than that but without accusing them of being far right.

I'm sure the more centre ground parties could form a coalition to kick them into touch. Not pretending I know because I don't, I'm just not seeing the appeal of this and feel Farage has read the room wrong.

Exactly this, better put than I said, I just think Farage has lost the plot. It seems desperate slinging a bunch of dodgy people together or he's more off his nut than I ever imagined.

Still i can see the media now falling all over this and having another pop at Kemi, because she said there wouldn't be anymore defectors - I thought when she said it was bloody stupid thing to say, because you can't read people's thoughts.

Agree, Kemi must realise there was a bunch of Tory MPs that wanted Jenrick as the leader, not her, so of course they're now going to be inclined to walk out with him.
