How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

I look in ocassionally to see what's been said on GC - I see these constant titles where it's claimed (via twitter links) that people have been jailed for saying words to cops or other similar scenarios. So I did a random check on one the other day, and as I suspected it was total bullshite and being fed to people who are too lazy to check what really happened. It was quite clear in the sentencing that the person was sent down for what they did and NOT for what they said, albeit it a commentary feel of the language is naturally going to be put forward as evidence, but it still remained, the person was convicted of violence as well as encourraging violence, and that's why they went down. Thing is it only takes a few minutes to check the validity of these claims, yet people are quite happy to spend hours posting lies without any checks whatsoever to what really occurred. I dare say some of the policing was heavy handed, but tough shhite, you go looking for trouble I want the cops to hit back.

Yeah, there was a guy who got 18 months, I think for, according to some Twitter comments, “saying hurty words” to cops. In fact, having been front and centre at a riot, shoving his finger in cops faces and giving them the full “come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough” routine, he pled guilty to violent conduct.

I read up on this some a while back, in brief, and from what I understood, it was people who were not likely to be a danger to anyone, so I'd say it ruled out people in those categories, I got the impression (could be wrong) it was more your shop lifter type of criminal, although having said that, I've seen reports where shop owners are not happy with that, because often shop lifters reoffend. I'm sure there are plenty of people in prison though who don't really need to be there.

If we'd just chop their ****ing arms off they'd be unable to reoffend - something similar for rapists ... plus only allowed bandaids and a couple of paracetamol for post-punishment first-aid treatment... those prison numbers would be down in record time ...

Must be a slow news week since they're still banging on about some ****ing Yacht

Some yacht, where SKY have attempted a few times to make it sound like dodgy goings on, by keep mentioning the owner and friend (who happened to be killed in a car accident only days before) had been on trial for fraud. This is despite people witnessing the fooking yacht being hit by a tornado waterspout, and video evidence on shore of the tornado causing havoc. Suppose it will become a conspiracy theory soon that it wasn't a tornado but gangsters with hair dryers, fooking muppets.

Mind you, the coincidence is just as bonkers as a Hollywood film script tbf - the yacht party was in fact a 'celebration cruise' for those involved in the successful court case ... ranging from the principle lawyer and his wife (still missing) the Chair of Morgan Stanley International who had appeared as a character witness at the case - and his wife (still missing) - the woman rescued with the baby is a partner in Lynch's current company and worked previously at the company that was the subject of the court case ... another lawyer and his wife were rescued ...

Now what are the odds that the co-defendent in the case should be mowed down by a car whilst out for a jog 2 days before the yacht is capsized by a waterspout ... waterspouts usually being quite benign in the med ...??? <yikes>

aberdude will be bouncing off the walls in his Cardiff care home <laugh>

I didn't even know they had waterspouts there of that magnitude.

yeah i think 99% put away is for violence.

I thought this was a bit harsh even though she's an absolute muppet. If they had to make an example fair enough but the length of time is a bit much considering what people who actually were violent got

SKY News doing an interview with the Chief Stewardess of the Super Yacht, talk about heartless journalism, the woman is clearly not in the right mental frame of mind to be giving an interview.

Along the lines of So the yacht sank and several passengers are dead as well as some crew members.......how do you feel about that and what were your thoughts as the yacht sank were you worried for your own safety

Some times empathy seems totally missing in modern interviewers, they should think how they would feel in that situation

Not seen the interview since, so wonder if it got pulled.

I thought surely there will have to be an inquest before they start giving interviews on tv.

I had a look on twitter last night and a few (only a few) conspiracy jokers had already tried to get the ball rolling, without much success as it happens at the moment.

Seen Obama's support for Kamala Harris at the most recent conference, he's got so much energy he could still run for president himself again. I use to think Kamala was a lot younger than she actually is, whereas there is only a 4 year age gap between her and Obama. Just hope she's got enough to beat the bluster bus (soz play on words).

I quite like Indian women, but as soon as Kamala opened her mouth, it'd be a quick no.
Maybe if she wore a ball gag
Why the **** do they keep referring to her as African American ffs, her mother is indian and her father is Jamaican. She is not remotely african!!
