Not sure what I think on the Child Benefit, kids aint it, so no problem with that but will it get spent on food or just line a landlords pocket or the utilitiy company coffers.

The milkshakes and lattes tax <laugh>

I drink neither so go for it.
I’d have some sympathy for the idea if they hadn’t tried very similar things which had no impact. People like eating ****e. You could make a lettuce 1p and double the price of Dairy Milk and we aren’t all going to suddenly eat ten lettuces each per day and never touch chocolate. Politicians on both sides consistently do this crap which a half-decent AS Level Economics student could critique in about five minutes.

But it’s a headline I guess.

I’d have more sympathy for it still if they funded subsidising healthy protein, veg etc. with the no doubt trillions we’ll get from Costa and KFC with this policy.

But they’ll add 20p to Gary and Gariana’s bargain bucket and everyone will eat what they ate before.

Ffs, yeah didn't even think of that.
It will genuinely help a lot of people. It’ll also go to people who piss money away on crap. Much like pension rises and anything else but it does sit a bit uncomfortably how much it’ll cost and how disproportionately weighted the benefit will be to people who have put little to nothing into the system.

Nah too easy, put them in a gibbet cage alive and live stream it on Youtube. Maybe hang it outside Parliament so the stench is a warning to others...

I’m seeing terrible people delighted the two child benefit cap is being scrapped and terrible people incensed over it. On balance while it won’t benefit me at all it doesn’t seem the worst thing and if you elect a Labour government it’s the sort of move you expect to see but also the arguments for the cap make a lot of sense.

Plus everything has to be brought back to immigration now and this will disproportionately benefit demographics pumping out large families so it becomes another culture war thingy. The Hamas independents both support it and take credit for it. Great work all round.

I'm one of those terrible people who is would be prefer the child benefit cap to stay.

I wanted to give labour a chance but they are makijg it very hard for me

Nothing terrible about it.

It's a fair policy, absolutely everyone gets the same.

Now people who just bang out kids and contribute **** all just get handed more money, so it being equal is no more.
