I just don't get the mentality of it mate, I'd like to think someone has done it in error over all this flag stuff. So ****ing disrespectful though.
Yeah I don't know what the mentality is.
It could be somebody mistakenly thinking it's some kind of flag shagging
It could be a misjudged anti war statement that has completely missed the point
It could be somebody thinking that whilst there is still war then why do we say 'Never again'
It could be somebody trying to whip up anti left wing hate by deliberately sabotaging it
Whoever did it is a nob head. For whatever reason really.
The human capacity to sink to the lowest levels of respect and decency shouldn't really surprise us ... unfortunately...
Pretty sure you’re meant to have one even if you only watch those through a laptop. It’s just a dumb stealth tax most pay without thinking about. The missus is convinced we’ll be carted off to prison if we (I) don’t but I’m 100% ****ing it off when we move next year. They’re a disgrace of an organisation.
I think the BBC is a decent outfit personally, not infallible, not perfect, but still produces very good content. And I mean that across different platforms and radio etc. I think journalistic credibility has been challenged a couple of times recently, but that doesn’t make the whole organisation a rotten apple
That said, I’m pretty sure they could survive with a different model that isn’t taxpayer funded. The issue there is that they are then open to all sorts of commercial influence which sways content, I guess you could say the same for ITV, Channel 4 and Sky and they all produce decent news.
I’ve not paid for a TV licence at home for probably 20 years as I didn’t even have a TV there for most of that time. I’ve got one at my unit where I have my business, but that’s paid for by somebody else. There’s no way I’ll be buying one, for the few minutes of news or motd that I watch
I’m just fundamentally opposed to the idea that I need to buy a TV licence to watch live TV on Amazon prime which I already pay for.
Tim Davie is no great loss to the BBC, he was a Tory party parliamentary candidate and advisor to Boris not so long ago.
Whoever edited that Panorama programme should also go. Trump doesn't need any editing to make him look bad, the guy spouts enough gibberish anyway. All the BBC have done is now given him a stick to bash them with his 'fake news' mantra.
What I will say though, is that the Telegraph who ran this story, have also themselves been accused of foul play in the media before and have actually been reported to the media watchdog for their own manipulation of facts in the past.
I guess the BBC, being a public service broadcaster and taxpayer funded service is held with higher standards, and rightly so. But it doesn't mean that the Telegraph hasn't engaged in this kind of stuff before either.

Well everyone is fallible, and so therefore is every institution run by human beings.
Rather ironic though that the BBC, which at least commits to the principle of impartiality, has buckled under pressure from the Telegraph, a right wing propaganda sheet which doesn’t even attempt to hide it’s political bias.
I look at it like this, I don't contribute to any news channel except for the BBC. I don't watch BBC news like I don't watch GB News and I don't read the Telegraph, but when I'm forced to pay to contribute to the BBC due to an archaic set of rules around a stealth tax then I get a say, and that is it feels like a closed shop left wing union and that's quite clear by those coming out in defence of them. If you don't like it then make the BBC subscription or even free, then I'll keep my attention out of how they behave just like I do with GB and you can suck up their bias news as much as you like then.

Gordon Brown has come out and said the BBC should have apologised a year ago and they never, everything is based on trust and a year later raises questions. We all make mistakes but they need to be amended immediately and a year later is not good enough.

This is true bro, but then again I don't pay for any other outlet. Some people dodge paying their tv licence, even though we know they watch live TV, but I'm no grass so not mentioning any names.
Remove the licence fee and the BBC can do what it ****ing likes, said in the nicest possible way.
I'm off to suck up all the right wing news off the SKY News channel now, they gone all stabby on the BBC, so it's like music to my ears.

Our US partner NBC News has obtained the letter sent from the US president's lawyers to the BBC.
Trump has set the BBC a deadline of 5pm EST (10pm in the UK) on Friday 14 November to "comply".
If not, the letter from Trump's legal team says:
A spokesperson for Trump's legal team tells NBC: "The BBC defamed President Trump by intentionally and deceitfully editing its documentary in order to try and interfere in the Presidential Election. President Trump will continue to hold accountable those who traffic in lies, deception, and fake news."
A BBC spokesperson tells NBC News: "We will review the letter and respond directly in due course."
The White House referred a request for comment to the outside legal team.
