What? You mean like us thrashing 'Pool 4-0, beating the Gooners, and drawing against your mob?

See where your argument lets you down?

Liverpool are average, plus they were down to 9 men and away from home.

You parked the bus and defended for your lives against us and only beat Arsenal due to VDV juggling the ball into the net.

We beat City and unlike you we don't bend over for United every season, we spanked Newcastle as well.

Let's look at the table in March; as I've said all season as long as we stay around 6-8 points max behind the Sours we can overtake them at the business end of the season.

We have a history of doing well at the end of the season.

The Terry business has been taken care of til July; Spurs have the Redknapp case on and a history of fading away when the trophies are handed out (five decades of it).

Spanked by QPR, really? Liverpool only beat us by a goal, Arsenal by 2. Wouldn't class any as being spanked.

The table doesnt lie, right this minute we are the better team. you cant deny that!!!

Yes you have been better in recent seasons but not anymore, any non biased fan would agree.

Only a seven point difference and we are playing in Europe too. Spurs do not enter the European Cup. If they did, one would assume their points total would be less rather than more.

If you assume you make an ass out of u and me.

If Chelsea are as amazing and Spurs as terrible as these threads keep predicting then you should be able to cope easily on multiple fronts :)

No one is saying Spurs are poor.

Just no need to get carried away. We'll see what you are made of in March.

You would have thought after three decades of living in Chelsea and Arsenal's shadow Spurs fans (not you Morph) would not be so cocky.

Indeed we will!

Part of the reason why people might get carried away is that it was 'The Big 4' for so long - Spurs have joined in in recent seasons and we all know about City. All of a sudden there's 6 teams competing for 4 spots.

Basically this thread is a Chelsea cat and a Tottenham cat arguing over territory :D

Fair play Morph.

Sorry if we come across as cocky, but we have been strong finishers for nearly a decade now so we have confidence about winning big games in March/April. See you MArch 24

It's not really cockiness when Chelsea have, at least over the past years, been strong finishers. I've also thought that if Torres can start scoring for you then you can easily go on a devastating run.

Tottenham, in contrast, have a history of tripping themselves up - recent example the Wolves game followed by our unlucky defeat at the hands of City (where a point would've been fair but there you go - we lost end of story). Our win last night at Wigan was critical in my opinion in terms of team morale, especially ahead of our tough run of games coming up.

If the teams were level points, the neutral would, irregardless of current form, put money on Chelsea (this is why Chelsea are favourites for the FA Cup despite league position behind Spurs).

However, with 15 games to go, we do have a 7 point gap over you and, at present, a 13 point gap over the never-predictable Arsenal. Whether those gaps are enough to secure, ideally, 3rd or 4th remains to be seen.

What I do know is is that it's gonna be a crackin' run in :D

At last! A realist! A polite Spurs fan. Didn't think they existed <whistle>

7 point lead may make you favourites although your run-in is tougher than ours.

If Torres started scoring regularly (very unlikely) we could even get close to second; or at least give the mancs a scare for second.

Sadly I doubt he will.

Ha - question I have for Chelsea fans though is when do Spurs get to be considered a regular in the top 4 and not just a fluke in your opinion? :P

Note - assume we finish 3rd/4th obviously

I think I have been fair and realistic, but I am also confident Spurs are playing some great stuff at the moment.

Chelsea are a good side and can beat anyone, I am not rubbishing (not sure thats a word) you at all but this thread would seem to suggest that it is expected for Chelsea to go on this good run or form combined with Spurs losing and Chelsea to take 3rd, im just not so sure both will happen thats all.

Three seasons running top 4. And three consecutive seasons getting out of CL group phase.

That would make Spurs big 4 and big European club.

There is no guarantee we will overtake you, but a couple of injuries and our big players back (Drog Ess etc) and you could get the wobbles

This basically - there's so many ways this final part of the season could go and this thread represents just one. If Arsenal can get over this current poor form (which is mirroring their form earlier this season before they lost to us and improved subsequently) then they could become a part of the top 4 - they certainly have potentially devastating players in RVP etc. That is, again, another potential path for the remaining 15 games.

I wouldn't really like to say 'Spurs are nailed on for 3rd' or 'Chelsea will storm up the table and get 2nd' with any real certainty at this point as, like last night proved with Everton-Man City, this season is one of the more unpredictable.

So long as Liverpool don't feature in the top 4, I think we'll all sleep easy :D

Yeah, but by the same token, you got absolutely spanked by Villa, 'Pool, Arsenal, and QPR - all teams that we beat fairly comfortably.

We lost to QPR and Liverpool by a goal and Arsenal and Villa by 2 late ones. In none of these games were we outplayed and in all of them bar QPR we were level up until the last 5 or 6 minutes.

You lost to United by 3 goals and City by 4, what do you call this then? <laugh>

Yes you have been better in recent seasons but not anymore, any non biased fan would agree.

The thing is no Chelsea fan is denying that. All we are saying is the season is not finished yet. If Spurs are above us in May I am happy to accept they are a better team than us (after all the table doesn't lie) but if you think we are just going to say that after just over half the season has been played when Spurs have had 2 or 3 months of piss easy fixtures bar 2 or 3 you have another thing coming.

On paper Arsenal, Liverpool, City, United, Newcastle and Chelsea have all had harder games than Spurs thus far.

When we get to play the likes of Wigan, Bolton, Blackburn and QPR at home as you have done and you have to play the likes of Sunderland, QPR, Bolton etc away as we have done we'll see the table perhaps evenly balanced.

All we are saying to HIAG, dona mara and totsfan etc is you cannot judge teams until everybody has played each other twice, which they have trouble accepting. I believe we can still get 3rd and Spurs who are traditionally frail away from home will falter, it is unchartered territory for you and your team is nowhere near as good as you think. Forget the media asslicking etc your squad is nowhere near as good as United or City, it probably isn't even better than ours but I would agree it is better than Arsenal and Liverpool's.

You keep saying this, because you really do have nothing else you can hit us with.

Please, make me a promise. If, come March, we are still above you, will you admit, in writing, in a separate thread - to be created by you - that Spurs is a better team than Chelsea, and the London side most capable of winning the league?
