Is'nt January in Hull a bit too cold to be bringing in an Egyption ? We need a striker who will hit ground running. Not one who's going to spend the rest of winter going...**** me it's bloody freezin man !

some players do make an instant impact when they are signed so lets hope Mr Gedo is one of them - not sure which striker we've currently got would play best with him. as long as we make quick progress in obtaining his signature on the contract - which any links between the 2 clubs will help.

For example Amir Zaki when he first joined Wigan in the Prem. The surprise element of an unknown player can often take a while for opposition management to figure out how to combat them. I'd take 10-15 goals from now until the end of the season...

Gedo sounds a really good player but will premier teams want him then SB said about work permit problems ect, we will have to see

Yeah then he went **** & fat & lazy.

There is no doubt that the 2 players mention ability goes without question, and they will be very welcome in Hull. Over the years I have spent a lot of time in Egypt, and the people are warm, friendly and extremely hospitable. They only reservation is whether they can acclimatise to the British weather, Geovanni comes to mind, who certainly seemed to come alive in the warmer weather.

Think Gedo will be our No1 target and DJ Campbell will be No2 should Gedo not get a work permit. I think Fathi will be a back up plan if we cant get Elmo back

It's apart of the process. They always give out information about lots of clubs being interested as it speeds up the deal and potentially adds some value.

The fact they have actually named the teams makes this less likely and they probably have enquired.

But when did they show interest? It could have been 2-3 seasons ago no one knows.

Anyway. I think we have as good a chance at getting him as anyone else. If not a greater chance having owners from the same country.

"The chance of playing in England doesn't happen every day, on personal level, I hope to experience overseas football again," Fathi told reporters on Monday.

"For sure I will not leave without Ahli's consent, I just hope officials show some flexibility in negotiations to allow me move to Hull."

Hopefully this comes off and is two fingers up to MON. Although the Elmo recall is understandable, I think the Meyler recall was to make us splash some cash to aid the purchase of their new midfielder.
