Anyone who actually things Jenkin's didn't have almost total control over transfers after he installed Monk as manager need someone to help them dig their heads out of the sand .
You know that as a fact then do you. Just asking like. So you were at the meeting where he told Monk you can be manager, but I am picking and buying the players. we can all guess and assume things, but none of us really know.
Read my post again. I said no such thing, though as TLF points out we don't really know. I took issue with your assertion that "nothing has changed" other than the involvement of Jenkins in transfers. In my opinion a LOT has changed that mitigate against us finding another Michu on the cheap.
Everything at the club is a qualified guess these days . Look at the Vorm case , happened in January , quarenteed we would here the out come of the case in Febuary , it will be June in a week ....heard anything . Put it this way lefty , since Monk became manager it can only be him or Jenkin's in charge of the transfers ....who put a rookie manager in charge of transfers if it was Monk .
But we are still guessing Roof, no one actually has the facts. I will be honest the last few transfers for me have been poor, but there are a lot of clubs in the same boat.
I would have thought that we would have had a scouting system and players would have been identified by those scouts, whether we have picked the right ones is obviously debateable. But I will go back to when we signed, Eder, Tabanou and Ayew and everyone was more than happy with them and many on here thought our squad was strong. So now they have failed we are looking at a blame game as I have said some transfers work some certainly don't. Who brought Fer in because it certainly wasn't Guidolin as he admitted he had never heard of him, he now wants to sign him, so some we get right.
So are you suggesting that Huw had nothing to do in the Ash, Leon, Tate, Rangel, Routs, Monk etc, etc deals? How about his best bit of business imo swapping Ben Davies for Gylfi? Making £15million profit on Bony, £8 million on Jonjo or £15 million on Joe? Credit where it's due, other than this season, the majority of transfers have been superb for our club, and Huw is at the heart of these deals,
That's exactly what I'm suggesting . Jenkin's picked great managers who knew how to bring in players , that all stopped with Monk the rookie . It was what Jenkin's did best , pick managers and let them do their job . To watch you try to give any credit whatsoever to Huw over Bony is just a laugh . All Jenkin's did was bitch about bringing Bony in because it wasn't the " The Swansea Way " . Routledge was brought in by Rodgers , and it was Laudrup that made him who he was . . Funny watching some talk about " Managers " transfers in the past turn it all around suddenly to throw it on the chairman . .... Truely.
Bitch or not, the man made £13-£15 million profit on him. Either way Roof, Huw is the chairman, and he signs off on the transfers. As Trunds said earlier, last season we brought in Ayew, Eder and Tabanou. All of which we were happy with. Is it Jenkins fault that Tabanou and Eder flopped? How about Palo? Guido wanted him, Huw brought him in and it's cost us £8 million. For that price, given his 2 league goals, he could be considered a flop. Do we blame Huw or the manager for that?
Hugh needs to take a reality check and realize this is our 6th season in the premiership and we cant keep buying cheapos now... The minimum we should spend on a striker is £15m+ and then that is nothing for a world class striker who will cost more than double that and more, The striker is the most expensive player we will buy with the rest of the players you can find most good ones around the £8 - £12m mark.......If Huw goes cheap we wont get anyone better than we already have and it will be another struggling season........
You already ate your words on Guidolin , you'll be eating them again with Paloschi valley . Not sure what your point is on Huw signing off on transfers , that's all he should do . Rodgers brought in Sinclair , Siiggy and Routledge . Laudrup sold Sinclair at a big profit , put his arm around Routledge and made him into the player he is . When Taylor got hurt , Laudrup put his arm around Davies and we eventually traded Davies for Siggy .laudrup brought in Bony and we made a fortune off a player Jenkin's whined about . When it comes to transfers , Jenkin's is an idiot , and it appears , an ongoing idiot .
Ki Sung-yueng will miss start of Swansea City pre-season after postponing military service for South Korea friendlies 18:00, 24 May 2016 Updated 18:02, 24 May 2016 By Simon Gaskell It has emerged Ki will play in South Korea's friendly games against Spain in Salzburg on June 1 and then against the Czechs in Prague on June 5 before his month-long military stint
Country before Club , that'll go down I don't think. He bottles it on a football pitch, hows he going to react when thousands form the North come barrelling over the hill at him
No. I don't struggle at much. However, I am struggling at understanding why a formerly decent, thoughtful poster turned into a complete knob.
Ouch ! Well that's not as bad as I thought , for some reason I thought he would miss the start of the regular season . Still though , gets payed well to play for his club and after missing some of the latter part of the season and with new players probably coming in to gel with , you would think he would want to secure a spot and earn his way .
Country should always come before club in other nations. It's only in the UK that club comes before country
