I don’t think Bruce will be sacked.
They are 7 points clear the relegation places, and that’s all Ashley cares about.
He won’t be looking to spend more money bringing another manager in, and he couldn’t give a monkeys how much the fans moan.
I could be wrong but I hope not, it’s nice to see them miserable.
If he is going there that would throw more doubts on the takeover.
While I agree I don't think he's going to be sacked, if it looks likely that the Mags are going to be sucked into a relegation fight, he might sack him just to keep them up. The only things would be when to do it and with who would want it. Howe could keep himself out of the frame and look to pick up another club with less trouble (say Fulham) or better financial backing (say Wolves) as his stock is pretty high still. Plus, Howe did spend a lot at Bournemouth, despite how the press portrayed them, would Ashley back him as much?
Ashley doesn't care what the fans think, do I doubt it'll be someone they'd want just to take the heat off him, more likely someone cheap and available for a short gig.

Looks more likely he'll go to Celtic. He's odds on to be their next manager apparently. Don't think he's a good fit for either of them though.
Agreed I don't see him suiting either club. I'd guess his next club will be a decent championship side based down south.

Actually I can see it as a possibility....There are not too many clubs in England as big as Newcastle and for anyone to be the person to "get it right" there would be huge.....on the other side of that coin, would someone risk his reputation on what must se seen as a grave yard for managers certainly while Ashely is at the helm. In the end it come down to hard cash...pay enough and most managers would go there.
20-25 years ago when they were challenging for trophies, I would have agreed.
What makes them seen as a big club, now? Big attendances is pretty much all they've got going for them and even that was starting to drop off over the last couple of seasons. They've barely played in Europe and haven't won a trophy for over 60 years. Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Leeds, Villa, Leicester and Southampton would all be seen as bigger clubs than Newcastle, these days. They're probably seen on the same level as the likes of West Ham and Wolves, now. A club with potential, but not up there with the top clubs in England, not even close.

We'll have to agree to disagree then.... As much as Sunderland fan as I am, Newcastle represent one of the few clubs IF they had the right owners and the right manager could be anything it wanted to be, it breaks my heart to say that, but thats how I see it. True they haven't done anything since Keegan...but just look at what they did then....that is very much possible with the right infrastructure. Its the same for Sunderland. People who don't know our area, have no clue whatsoever how big these clubs could be as we have been yoyo clubs for years, so for the rest of country we are much much cast aside as has beens..... But I always remember when Keegan took over at the Mags and he was asked about the potential of the club he said Potential means nothing unless its realised. He very nearly got it right, and thats what I am referring to. With both our fans bases, and stadiums we just need ambitious owners and a savvy manager to make it happen.....that could be said for most clubs, but with our fans base it would sustainable...say unlike Bournemouth etc

Hundred percent agree. Sir John Hall saw what the EPL was going to be and for a few years had NUFC playing at the top end of it. Pains me to say it but Newcastle United are a big club.
