TfL made investments to Finsbury Park - but that was part of an overall £10b investment in the whole network.
As part of the section 106 planning agreement, Arsenal made payments of £7.6m to improve the stations and transport network in the immediate area.
Public Transport Improvements
• AFC to pay all reasonable design costs associated with developing the public
transport improvements from the grant of planning permission
• Within 28 days of the Council’s request, (such request not to be made until after the
stadium contract has been let and the Council is ready to spend the funds
requested and necessary consents and valuations have been received) AFC shall
pay to the Council periodic payments corresponding to the expenditure totalling not
more than £7,595,000 to be used for the provision of public transport improvements.
Holloway Road Underground Station Improvements
• Enhancement works including a new fixed stair in an existing shaft,
reinstatement of currently disused staircases and passageways into
operational use, a new accessibility lift to platform level, remodeling of façade,
improvements to the existing lifts & associated enabling works
Drayton Park Station Improvements
• AFC to fund a contribution towards general enhancement works, up to a cost of
£500,000
Drayton Park Station Capacity Enhancement Works
• AFC to fund additional works to increase station capacity, subject to the
Strategic Rail Authority confirming that it will meet the Drayton Park Station
Service Delivery Specification within 24 months of letting of the contract to
build the stadium for the duration of its franchise agreement and for at least 24
months
• The Drayton park Station Service Delivery Specification = the provision of train
capacity for 2000 persons in the post-event hour in a north-bound direction on
weekday evenings Saturdays and (subject to reasonable endeavours) Sundays
• AFC to fund a contribution towards enhancement works, up to £2,000,000
Finsbury Park Central Area Project
• Environmental & access improvements to Station Place, up to a cost of
£300,000
Public Transport Improvements Definition
• In addition to the above specific projects, the definition includes enhancement
of pedestrian crossings on TLRN roads within the vicinity of Underground
stations
