It comes out of someone's pocket. Not all music illegally downloaded is the likes of Coldplay and Simon Cowell, neither are all movies produced by Hollywood.

At the end of the day it's still theft.

Having been on the dole for a couple of months between graduation and my graduate job starting I worked a wee bit at the weekends cash in hand to try an make up a bit and I can assure you the extra hundred or so a week on the side still wasnt enough. I couldnt have afforded to put petrol in a car never mind acquire one, paying rent was a major stress never mind pay electricity, get oil for the house.

I dont approve of people manipulating the system to get money thy arent entitled to (e.g. incapacity when fully fit but just lazy) but to grass on people doing a bit of work on the side to make up a shortfall just stinks of petty selfish self importance

Edit: forgot to mention i was raising, and still am, a youngun at the time

I've been through hard times. I got myself re-educated and got a ****in job. I would rather stick needles in my eyes than take a free handout from any ****. Equally, I would never turn a blind eye to some **** getting benefits and who is then working on the side and therefore paying no tax.

I would enjoy letting the **** know I grassed them.

Illegal downloading is not theft nor has it ever been treated as theft. It is copyright infringement which is completely different.

Disclaimer - That is not making excuses for illegal downloading, just a statement of a fact.

Does it take the money out of someone's pocket who should be earning it?

Didn't realise there were so many saints on here. Or maybe it's selective memory syndrome.

Well said Jackie. These guys are sucked in by the Daily Mail and Government telling them that people doing the double are living these glorious lifestyles. It's all bollocks of course.

I was making the point that it's a bit rich of people on here (and it happens all the time) to get their panties in a bunch over law breaking when they're no stranger to breaking the law themselves.

Which I'm sure none of you have ever done eh?
