Sunderland, bottom for most of the season and totally ****e at home, were the 7th best supported club.

They've got NOWT to hit us with at the minute and I remember from the Keegan days how awful that feels.

I remember being absolutely terrified when they had Bobby Robson, some great players and seemingly endless finance <doh>

Then the daft buggers booed Robson out of Toon and they've ended up as desperate also-rans.

You're right about Teflon mate, they have to resort to a percentage of sales against capacity ..... that really hurts me <laugh>

Fail to mention that on the flip side, we have the highest percentage of town population as an average attendance, surely a far greater reflection on us?

I'd say it was clutching at straws, but more like reaching and failing to grab the ****ing box!

Stuff like this is more relevant and reflects poorly on the clubs but greatly on the fans. Truth is, both sets of fan deserve a lot of praise considering the crap we have (for the most part) been served up.

This braincell must have thought,

"I know, I'll hit these Mackems where it'll really hurt them. Yes, they've beaten Newcastle twice this season, humiliated us on our own ground, been to Wembley for a cup final, scored and lost only to the League Title winners ........ but if I can remind them about the percentage of sales to available seats that'll flatten them."

How can there be such a difference in mentality only 15 miles away, it's like the land that time forgot.
