    Don`t blame SG?
Oh sorry SG is that blameless scouser that beats up DJ`s on camera yet gets his mates to take the fall.
Good job the FA saw through your scouse tricks and gave Suarez the ban that he deserved.

I hope Rio doesn't even get a fine never mind a ban just so I can laugh at you when you go into KPR rage mode.

The funniest thing about this all is that - if you were to go waaaaay back into the Liverpool threads you'd find lots of them (led by KPR) who predicted:
    a) Liverpool would Overhaul Spurs, Arsenal and even possibly Chelsea.
    b) United would (once again) decline massively, possibly even finish out of the top 4 (sound familiar?)
    c) "King Kenny" to carry on his "great form", and build for a bright future.
    d) Andy Carroll to "tear up" the Prem, after shaking off his injury.
    e) Stewart Downing (Villa's POTY, who was clearly better than Young) to provide Carroll's ammunition.

We should be used to their claims and predictions by now.

Ah, but it's like watching repeats of that Only Fools and Horses episode where Del falls through the bar - you know exactly what's coming but it's still funny as **** to watch the catastrophe unfold!

Wtf? Talk about overreaction, you big girl's blouse! <somersault>

I said I don't blame him for hoping we get fourth. What that has to do with Suarez being fitted up for a 'racism' ban by the Ferguson Association on the word of that proven liar Evra, God only knows. <confused>

In fairness 90% of us just want to see improvement, better finishing and a reasonable finish (5th).

4th is the dream finish for me right now.

Downing didn't get a kick during the Euros but was still a far better player than Young during that tournament. As was Voronin, for that matter.

What does this have to do with his performances for Liverpool?
I couldn't care less how Young performs for England..

I don't suppose you would like to compare league performances from last year between Downing and Young?

Well to be fair Downing DID hit the post more often than Young did.

And we all know that hitting the post is the best indicator of good performances, as opposed to those old fashioned metrics of goals, assists and chances created!

"Well to be fair Downing DID hit the post more often than Young did."

I can only remember Downing hitting the bar once, in our opening game of the season. Could be wrong though.

Dunno about Young, but IF your point is that hitting the woodwork is not as good as scoring - well duh..... :emoticon-0114-dull:

The reason some Liverpool fans may rattle on about them chances (and, say Andy Carroll's header in the FA final) is how close last season was between failure (it was) and a modest success. I don't, and never did. Two of carroll's woodwork srikes (one of them, ironically from a Downing cross) were from a yard in front of goal when it was easier to score. Rank bad finishing rather than bad luck (and Suarez was just as guilty against Arsenal in the league).

You add to that our midfielders seem to close their eyes and welly the ball infront of goal (with the exception of Gerrard) and it's reasonable to speculate on how different the season - and possibly Kenny's fate - could have been. But it wasn't 'luck', especially not Carroll's header in the FA final that should have been buried anyway.

Not sure if you were around this time last year but, as usual, there was the thread on the 'Pool board about how Carrick is rubbish, our midfield is average and over age, your midfield is world class and how Adam and Downing, who had more crosses and assists than anyone, ever, in the previous season with Villa (wow) and was so much better than Young, would only improve on that.

    Look how it ended.

It's all started again to be honest. Now it's all this tiki taka ballocks but the story is the same, Carrick is average, our midfield is too old, a couple of injuries and we'll struggle for top four, blah, blah, blah, utter bollocks.

To be fair, last year the culprit who started it was KPR and this year it is the very same knobhead only with a different name, Mancini/Bazray, but that's not to say a lot don't blindly agree and join in.

Let's see how it ends this year, eh? Think I can hazard a guess though.

    <ok>

I think it's fair to point out that whenever one of those threads start the majority of sensible pool fans like Zingy, gonzo and mito all point out that it's been said before and Liverpool are still a long way behind Utd and City and would do well to get 4th.

Unfortunately their comments tend to be drowned out by bazray, Muppet, Davidako, BillyBob and a load of other ****s who reel out the usual tedious nonsense about our thin squad and endless debt and how this is the year when the cracks will finally start to be seen etc etc. Then the sensible fans leave in despair, so the imbeciles can carry out agreeing with each other and convincing themselves that this year is Liverpool's year...

Let`s be honest a number of LFC fans were saying the same old things on the old 606.
Some of them will carry on spouting carp on how their fortunes changing, is just around the corner, until it is a mathamatical impossibility.
