massive bump after yesterday, we played it like a friendly, youd of thought the squad players would of grasped the chance with both hands obviously not good enough or have no motivation
Bollocks. It's very easy to say that because a second string team lost we must have a thin squad, it's nonsense though. A team that has Basso, Oli, Garcia and Simpson not even making the bench is not paper thin. I don't think we've had this much depth in a very long time. The problem we have is coming back from a goal down, regardless of what team we put out this is always our problem. I agree that we need another signing but IMO it should be someone to come into the first team and make us more of an attacking threat; another proper winger or a striker that can create something from nothing.
all the players youve just named arnt quality backup. basso - knees have gone olifinjana an enigma simpson lower end championship striker garcia never really done it for me like i say good first eleven , poor backup for a team with hopes of going up if you look at the original quote too, that was from weeks ago, so your easy to say that because weve just lost to a division 4 side goes out the window too
It isn't poor backup though. Just because we lost yesterday doesn't mean we have crap backup. We have players coming out of our ears. Any new signing would have to wear shirt number 36 I think. Fryatt, Simpson, McLean, King and Adebola all fighting for one position. Stewart, Brady, King, Garcia, McLean all going for the wide roles. In Koren and Brady we have two fantastic options for that position. Evans and McKenna have a good partnership but beyond that we have Cairney (one of the best left feet in the divison) and Olifinjana, who many want to be in the team after yesterday. The defence is doing fine but that's the area where we're actually the thinnest, blowing your depth argument out of the water. The attack is the problem and we have loads of options there. Problem is that for whatever reason we're just too easy to stop scoring.
read the full post and quote, whos saying ive come to this conclusion after just yesterdays game lol so your saying on one hand we have no cover for defence yet my lack of squad depth argument is blown out the water haha and yes the attack dont score goals because we have no one to come in and perform when the starting attackers lose a bit of form. simpson, adebola to an extent mclean not good enough kings unproven your argument is because we have alot of players you seem to think the qualitys there when it isnt but no ramble on be blind dont read your right im wrong
Err what matches have you been watching? We have been creating shed loads of chances. Today doesn't count because I just think no one turned up.
And who do you think kicks that trickle to the keeper. THE MAN IN THE ****INGMOON. It is not just Fryatt the whole front line are to blame. Fact we are creating the chances the team are NOT, read my lips NOT finishing them and it has cost us a lot of points and it certainly can't continue. This work in progress bullshit has been going on for two seasons now
My opinion is that the Man Utd. loanees have worked up until now; with only a few days left of the transfer window we definitely need to start splashing some serious cash on proven players if we are to really push on. Think we COULD have blown a big chance in signing someone decent when Le Fondre went to Reading; someone like Sharp or Tubbs would be ideal! The 1-0 result is ok but I'd like us to have someone who can follow up on a strike if the keeper loses the ball; not just give up. Matt Fryatt IS a good striker but when he has someone tall and powerful alongside him; as mentioned before like his partnership with Steve Howard at Leicester, I guess that's what we brought Adebola in for but we need someone in that kind of role who's younger and faster.
