Pritchard hits the underside of the bar after a superb counter attack I hope to God we don't pay for these misses.
Commentary on Player fairly incomprehensible because the commentators are getting over-excited. But I prefer that to when they chunter on about previous matches, forthcoming matches, and their respective hotel and traffic experiences. BWP still missing chances, Mike!
FT 1-1 A game we may well have won, but ended up hanging on. At least we've stopped the losing run. Look forward to hearing from those who were there.
Sounded like an exciting game and plenty of spirit from Charlton. No loanees among the 14 who played.
Pretty much the side that took us up last year. Haynes's goal and performance was top drawer; he looked gutted when he pulled up injured and may have been in tears. Evina had a good game as did Lawrie Wilson and Pritchard; Jackson's best in ages I thought. It was a shame that we didn't get to see Nigel Clough imitate his dad (walking on water teehee) but he was very shrewd bringing Sammon on in those conditions. I let out a small and involuntary Kenneth Williams Impersonation when Haynes scored.
We have had a lot of poor refs at the Valley this season but this one was by some margin the worse! He wanted to send off Morrison and did..... Job Done
The Good Doctor made an error in not taking Morrow off at half time ....... it was a ticking time bomb waiting to go off..... and it did...
Hamer 8.5 - Made some truly superb saves, perhaps the best game I've seen from him. My only qualm would be that he punched a few too many balls that he could have caught, though given the slippery nature of the ball I guess that's to be expected. Solly 7 - Did his usual solid job defensively and some great attacking runs and crosses. Cort 6.5 - Solid throughout. Struggled a bit against the pace of Tyson but no mistakes to speak of generally. Morrison 5.5 - Pretty solid defensively, but too many reckless challenges and neither I, nor anybody around me was suprised when he was sent off. A number of comments at half time to the tune of "He'll be off in the second half etc" Evina 5.5 - Made a few decent sliding tackles, but as always failed to block any crosses and constantly gave their winger too much space to dribble/cross. Wilson 6.5 - solid performance, decent tackles and runs. Think I spotted a few dives from him which I wasn't best pleased about. Stephens 6 - had a pretty solid game. Can't think of any mistakes he made and laid off some good passes. More anonymous than usual, but I'd rather he got the job done and was anonymous than make silly mistakes. Pritchard 6.5 - full of energy all game and put in some great challenges, laid off some brilliant passes. Absolutely gutted he hit the cross-bar though when essentially gifted an open goal. Jackson 7.5 - one of the best performances I've ever seen from Jackson, and certainly his best this season. Showed brilliant control and put in some great crosses and passes. His lack of pace showed when they were attacking, but I won't hold that against him. Kermorgant 7 - started off slow, got very frustrated with the rough-treatment he was getting from Derby defenders, but laid off some brilliant balls. Haynes 7 - what a goal! Full of energy and chased every ball. Gutted about his injury and hope he's back soon. ----- BWP 8.5 - never stopped running, made their defenders look like completely fools at least 10 times with some really silky skills and close control. A shame he couldn't score, but he should certainly be starting against Watford. Dervite 6 - solid defensively, but his constant shirt-tugging and habit of getting on the wrong side of strikers is very frustrating and worrying. Fuller 5 - decent control at times, but his woeful pass to BWP was...well woeful. Despite the boo's the ref got at the end I don't think he was too bad today. Was sensible enough to not give Morrison a second yellow earlier in the game, and was given no choice for the foul in the box. He did however do a few stupid things (i.e blowing the whistle when Evina was about to take a throw in, walking over to him so that he can tell him to hurry up. Making the fourth-official throw him the ball Hamer had just kicked out and checking the ball to make sure Hamer wasn't time-wasting....so ironic).
Hamer 10 Solly 9 Morrison 7 Cort 8 Evina 7 Stephens 8 Pritchard 9 Wilson 8 Jackson 7 Haynes 9 Kermogant 8 Sub BWP 8 Dervitte 7 Fuller 7 Great game end to end morrisons first yellow very unfortunate couldn't see the second one for the pen but have been told he got the ball. The ref in the second half atrocious Hamer gave a goalkeeping master class apparently Fulham are sniffing around if so today's performance will make up their minds. 3 world class saves and many others too and handling distribution faultless Pritchard may of missed a sitter but he was immense covered every blade of grass. Was a charlton performance of old grit determination really enjoyed the game Derby are a good footballing side easy on the eye and a draw was a fair result in all honesty. Haynes goal deffo goal of the season really felt sorry for him but BWP came on and ran his socks off and gave the derby back 4 all kinds of problems on the break and Yan was his bustling bruising best
I can't be bothered to type up the usual novel I do but I'll say this How has BWP not been playing? Him and Kermit up from started to look like at their best link up wise like last year. Haynes great goal (despite me saying quite loudly, "that'll never go in" If you heard me I'm sorry I'm wrong and judgmental.) No Green, means Danny be on his way out sadly Hamer MOTM by a country mile, was a superb player Cort as a beast in the air never lost a header best aerial display in a while Pritchard, missed a sitter but I've hated him for about 6 months, I have grown to like him now he plays at CM rather than RM Morrision, as has been said we all saw it coming didn't see the pen as I'm sat in North upper but the 1st yellow was never a yellow offence Ref was pretty poor to be fair, some tackles got nothing then soft ones got yellows (Morro first for example) Good display deserved a win but Derby do play nice football, stopped the rot, on the up! COYR!
