None of us know anything about him, even Bundesliga fans know little about him(I asked a mate in Frankfurt and he'd never heard if him), but Pearson sounded very impressed with him.

How many of us had heard of Stewart, Chester or Ayala?

To be fair, I'd heard of Chester and Ayala <whistle>

I'd heard of Ayala, and I'd seen the other two play but not heard of them if that makes sense.

This is true, but you have to look at Arminia Bielefeld's form this season. Maybe his defence is terrible, and he's not at fault, but Bielefeld this season are not bad, they are atrocious. A club of their stature should be doing a damn sight better in the 2. Bundesliga. I find it hard to believe a quality goalkeeper is behind that form.

Liverpool and United's reserves have not been performing badly with Ayala and Chester and so on...

But I trust the scouting system we have, so if we get him a hope to be proved wrong.

Just looked on a German forum and found this (a strange thread that's been going about him since 2006!). It's fair to say opinion is divided. There are a few papers (Including Bild, Germany's version of "the Sun") which are even linking him to Schalke.

This post was in response to someone posting some articles about Eilhoff claiming he had a bright future, even possibly one for the German National team.

You're seemingly overlooking the fact that these articles are already two years old or even older. Dennis was in really tremendous form back then, without doubt. Whether he will find that form again isn't, as you say, "no one knows", but is actually pretty questionable. Therefore I would actually say that playing in the Bundesliga is a step too far for him. For a team with promotion homes in the 2nd division, okay. For a good Second league side like Fürth, absolutely.

Dennis has to be built back up again first, before he can reproduce the performances of the 08/09 or the 09/10 seasons again, therefore he has to be in the upper third of the second league. If he went to a relegation-candidate of the Bundesliga, I don't think he'd find the performances, and he would lose any ability. In a top-half of the Bundesliga club, his talent would be wasted, as he would probably hardly get a game.

Only one opinion, but most seem to be in broad agreement about him.

So really we need to ask, what is the level of the Championship. Personally, I think it's a far better league than the 2nd Bundesliga. Obviously not as good as the Bundesliga itself. From what's been said, I remain unconvinced he'd do a job for us if we were challenging for promotion, and by the sound of it, he certainly wouldn't cope with promotion in England.

Well, the Bielefeld fans' boards weren't exactly imploring him to stay but if he's out of favour at the club and wants away, and the fans know it, then he's not going to be that popular, is he? Personally, I agree with those who say we should trust NP and CS even though Bielefeld's position doesn't suggest quality in goal or anywhere else in their squad.

I agree about Eilhoff though TWF. Well done, you've posted a non-****ish comment. <applause>

I've mentioned him a few times in the new signing threads, but only because it seems certain that we'll sign him. I'm not even going to bother watching that video, it'll only get my hopes up. <laugh>

Wouldn't be bad, if we could get Mannone back as first choice and Eilhoff as back-up (he looks a good back-up), though I reckon Eilhoff would get more games than Mannone 'cos of his injuries. Also it would let us loan out Oxley to give him a game for once and let him develop.

I can see Ben Amos coming to us on a years loan, given that Fergie is probably going to sign a couple of keepers. Amos has Mannone like credentials given that he's had a few shocking games on loan before he would be joining us, and fits the bill regarding the clubs policy of bringing on Man Utd youngsters.

It's so good to see our feeder clubs manager is on the ball, and has noticed our Goalkeeping requirements, and is adjusting his hirings to our needs!! <whistle>:emoticon-0103-cool:

Youtube can make anyone look like a world beater there is a video of all of Heskeys step overs and it makes him look like Messi. I havent seen anything on him, football manager which is usually accurate says that he would be a good signing for championship sides 2.5/5 stars but didnt have him developing that much. Before anyone jumps on the bandwagon FM isnt real, they use real scouts to establish player stats and are rarely wrong with up and coming world stars. although i do think Leigh Griffiths is a bug on the game scoring 40+ in Lg1 for me then 37 in Championship and 22 in the Prem in the process arsenal trying to sign him and him scoring at the world cup for Scotland, who btw was captained by Tom Cairney who becomes one of the best midfielders in the world........ ok so maybe its wrong sometimes :S
