PS: In case you can't tell, I Would wet myself if we got Dembele lol. I wish there was some truth to this rumour.

The only reason I was comparing the two was to make the point that despite Gomez being pretty ****e he still scored more than Dembele, I hope nobody got the impression I was saying he's a better defensive rock or has more quality overall.

In case you haven't noticed we can't score to save our lives so yes goals from midfield are important and we wouldn't get them from Dembele. If we're after a quality CM like Dembele and an attacking midfielder too then great, but considering that we also need a striker I doubt it.

I'd be happy if we signed him of course, he's a very good player, I was just under the impression we were after more of a Giacc than a Catts.

We can't score to save our lives? Of course we can. We've done it at the end of the last three seasons! We can ONLY score when it's to save our lives. Now we need to do it when it isn't (yet) vital.

Sunderland have enquired about Tottenham Hotspur’s Belgian international midfielder Moussa Dembele, but have been rebuffed.

Dick Advocaat is believed to be keen to add Premier League experience to his Sunderland midfield ahead of the new season and is said to be considering a move for the Tottenham man.

No but we can't play as team either, what should come first? Take one look at QPR and Austin(Team who looked like strangers with one man banging them in for fun) then tell me a goal scoring midfielder is more important than a rock in the middle of the park who can bring it all together. This is my point.

Probably because they need players in that position. Spurs have already got rid of Paulinho and Capoue. Stambouli looks like he's going to be away to PSG so getting rid of Dembele would leave them seriously short of cover, at the moment.

Spurs will be trying to raise the price, make them an offer if they are not interested move on. He is a great player but we don't want another Borini saga.

So waiting on the Domino effect to begin. Either we risk waiting until he becomes available, if he does. Or move on to a secondary target.

This news could be the reason Dick is meeting Ellis today. Maybe our secondary target isn't satisfactory so Dick wants more money?
