There is insufficient room here to do justice to a discussion on Africa,and I am not that qualified to make too many definitive statements.
For anyone remotely interested in The Continent,I can thoroughly recommend,"The State of Africa,A History of Fifty Years of Independence",by Martin Meredith. It is very readable,and the author is much travelled in Africa,indeed lived /worked there for a long time. Available via Amazon,etc. It's my bedside book,and I dip into it most nights.It's a fascinating read.
I haven't been to Mozambique,and whilst it sounds very nice,my African experiences to date have put me off further travel there. I say that with a great deal of sadness,for I did meet some very kind,generous people,but the fact is that we Europeans are always "playing away",and when things go wrong,and they do,regularly,it's then you realise that the "referee,linesmen",etc., are all bent,and the rules are changed ,as and when required, to suit the local population.
