Deleting threads

I am being good,and not responding to the Cardiff poster.
Picking up on Norway's post,I would ban both profit,and his poodle,jh. They only come here to disrupt,and,apart from the odd occasion when profit comes along and ingratiates himself by ringing the praises of The Swans,he's an enemy.
I don't think mods should have sole banning rights,however. I would prefer to see all bona fide posters given the opportunity of saying yay,or nay.
For example,I am putting up profit and jh for removal,if a vote is taken,and a majority,say 75%, want them to stay,then they stay,end of matter.
In almost four years of posting these are the only two I would vote out,so it's not ever going to be a major problem.

Thanks for seeing the possibility,Scott. The 75% was just for an example,it could be whatever the group want. We could even take a vote on that.

HTR,really sorry to hear about the death of your friend. Condolences to his wife ,and family. This type of occurrence really does put things into perspective,with most else paling into insignificance.

Jager i understand your view and respect it 100% i just feel that our mods have a duty to keep our message board clean of WUM s and thats not happening , we all know who they are yet nothing gets done about it!!so why blame the likes of Vetch for taking them on ?

We are in this position is because the moderators obviously cant be bothered to do the job they are supposed to do, instead you have a pathetic situation where one of our own swans posters ends up getting deleted instead!! thats how you kill your own forum and watch the numbers dwindle away guys!

Well we can't ban anyone Norway, that has to be done by a "super moderator".
I was trying to keep the board clean during a time when there were a number of threads that could have possibly gone very nasty, but deleting posts will only ever go so far. If a thread with a load of content likely to cause wumming/abuse/whatever else is up then you will inevitably get replies of a nasty nature. Then I deleted some threads. One of which was by Vetch, and maybe I could have left it up, but it was directed at Prophet solely, and would have been nothing but a thread of Vetch and Prophet going at it, until inevitably it went south again. Since then I've had you making snide comments. Nice. If they're not aimed at me, then maybe I need to thicken my skin. If they are, come out and say it directly innit.

Norway the reason I became a mod is to make sure that a flame war doesn't happen, I am guilty of it at times I hold my hands up to it, but we need to make sure people can come here and chat about our team, have a banter with visitors when they come here, and have a laugh with as vetch says with articulate teases.

Let's try and forget the deletion of my post,I am fully accepting of it's removal,even though it contained zero insults.The tongue in cheek humour I tried to utilise would probably have produced hysterics from the humourless one.

Scott- With respect, you seem to have your head up your own arse a bit i have to say , Are snide comments the next topic up for removal and moderation ?? Who decides if they are snide ?you ?
Please tell me why you think they are snide comments and not sarcastic,lighthearted or witty comments.I would love to know more about your seemingly negative viewpoint towards myself ,most would see my comments maybe as light hearted,sarcastic, witty and also direct. You see them as "snide" almost like you have some kind of complex there fella!

Jager- that sounds fair to me , shame it took 162 comments for us to get on the same hymm sheet !! in fact of the last 4 highest commented threads on our page 3 of them are non football related ! and are also titled as such ,proves there doesnt have to be football only debate like some think.

You're entitled to your own opinion, and if you think I have my head up my arse then that's your perogative. You called me "self righteous" and alluded to my actions being "pathetic" but never called me by name, that's why I said they were snide.
I'll always allow for interpretation online, because, as Vetch has said, it's difficult to convey sarcasm and banter online if people can't see you winking or grinning like you can in real life, your comments irked me a little that's all.

Good point there Norway.Quite often a football topic will change direction,and why not,nothing is written in stone.
I quite like the fact that threads can move in different directions.It actually assists in the hoped for banter,especially when an individual divulges little things that can be built into a future tease. As long as there is no hurtful intent,I don't really care where the thread goes.
