Won’t be known to many on here but a local long standing City fan died aged 74. Had to curtail going to City as he spent years looking after his wife who had MS and was not able to be left for long periods. Then, after her passing, became ill himself. Was a councillor, voted for him on the basis he supported City, not his party, and later was Mayor. One of those who put more into the world than he took out.

Was it the same councillor who was involved with the Action Group and the TSA during the Chalk Lane Club days? Barry?

God,this is a shock!!First saw him and his band in 1977(Edit,78,just dug out the ticket)supporting the Clash at the Apollo Glasgow, they weren't even called the Specials at that time.I saw them a couple of years later at the same venue and the place was absolutely bouncing(I mean literally as the wife, then girlfriend, and I had bought tickets for the balcony and it used to move!!)

Lively front man in an extremely good ska band, genuinely shocked by this.

RIP Terry Hall.

I'm only 32 but Terry Hall (and my mum's love of him) was responsible for why I fell in love with music as a toddler and why I ended up working in the music business. Gutted.
I would give this post 2 likes but obviously can't...

So many toddlers nowadays wouldn't have the faintest idea of their parents musical tastes.I suppose it's down to most people not playing albums,CD's or even the radio anymore?

I think it's lovely that you picked up on that at a tender age and credit your Mother and the Specials/Terry Hall for your becoming involved in music...Nice Post.
