Aged 17 and of slim build (a very long time ago) I was stopped after 4 pints and failed the roadside breath test, arrested and taken to central and failed the breath test again and then was blood tested. I found out weeks later I'd passed!!!! The police doctor just jammed the needle in my arm, pulled and it hurt like hell as he tried to withdraw my blood. Maybe my skin mass filtered the alcohol out from the blood as it passed to the syringe from the blood vessel inches away from his badly aimed jab. Good job I hadn't had a skinfull..... Many years later a bit more portly I passed the new breathalyser after a 6 hour barbecue session on lager shandies. again I reckon equivalent to 4 pints but spread out over a long period. In my late teens I reckoned I was a better driver after 3 pints. Times have changed, Nowadays I wouldn't dream about driving after even a couple of beers. I'd just drive.
